“Another drive through only coffee place but this one is one of my favorites. I’ve had pretty every drink they have and not one has been bad. The employees are also always kind to every customer it seems. This location in particular has great coffee and great employees. Im not sure who’s running this place but they’re doing an excellent job here. I usually get the flavored energy drinks in the morning but this morning I got an iced Hawaiian with a soft top and it was delicious. If you’re getting and iced coffee I recommend asking for the soft top as well.”

“Biggest board game selection I’ve seen in New England, tons of squishables and kids games (great place to pop in and get a gift), coffee was really good, comfort food menu I had a very good grilled cheese and toys. “This page really needs to be updated—the new owners have completely changed the place. The one star reviews are from the old business. It’s easily one of the better spots in town now, especially for lunch. The Jason’s Deli–style salad bar is always clean and fresh, and their Matcha is hands down the best in GR—no chunks, vibrant (you can tell how good match is by the color and there’s are never pale), and never chalky. You can adjust the sweetness but still taste the real Matcha flavor. The fall menu is unique, and they have so many syrups and sauces that they can make anything you want. My favorite part is the study rooms—you can grab a drink, lock in, use the TV as a second monitor, and jot notes on the whiteboard. The staff is super friendly and always helpful.”

“On May 14, 2026, a local near Michigan Central Station recommended an ice cream spot to me. Craving something sweet, my friends and I made our way over, only to arrive right at closing time. As we approached the entrance, co-owner Ruth kindly gestured that they were closed—but then opened the door just to hear us out. We explained that we had come based on a local’s recommendation and fully understood that we’d have to return another time. Moved by our story, Ruth invited us inside to at least say hello to her husband Tom, the other co-owner. We stepped in, just to show appreciation and let them know we’d respect their hours and be back. To our surprise, Ruth and Tom generously offered each of us a scoop of ice cream—letting us choose our flavors—and welcomed us with warm, genuine conversation. We talked about Detroit, the auto industry, Michigan Central Station, and more. It wasn’t just the dessert that made the visit special, but the hospitality and human connection they shared. Their kindness and the overall experience were truly remarkable. Ruth and Tom embody what it means to go above and beyond for their customers. I look forward to bringing others back to enjoy not only the delicious ice cream but also the cozy, inviting atmosphere they’ve created. “The Flower House Cafe is definitely worth the hype - we stopped in on a typical, rainy PNW fall day and the tomato soup and grilled cheese combo was the perfect way to warm up and fuel up! The toffee almond latte was incredible and all the food was out super quick (which was extra surprising considering we were with a large group)! There was plenty of outdoor seating but not much space inside; luckily the weather wasn't too bad out of the rain. Definitely will be coming back when we're on the island again!”
