“This is a beautiful place. My Mom, Dad, brother and now son are all buried here. When my son passed in 2017, they called me about the plot and stone. So very caring. They take very good care of the grounds and summers it is always mown and kept neat. My very heart lays in these grounds. I visit these grounds and one day plan to rest my body here till Jesus comes.”

“The reason I checked 5 stars, I realize it may come across a little weird, is not only are my grandparents buried there, my parents have invested large amounts of their time fixing up the veterans plots. Gordon and Debra Shepard have fixed, aligned all the stones, raised money to install curbing, sprinklers, etc etc... Also, Brody, our family dag, volunteers his time and contributes by chasing off the geese. The geese cause a lot more problems, i.e., they defecate all over the place and make a terrible mess! Brody has chased them off so much over the years, that now when the geese fly up here, they pass over Riverside Cemetery! Because they know that somewhere down there Brody is waiting for them! p.s. No geese were harmed in the clearing of geese at Riverside Cemetery, nor in the training of Brody Shepard! :) ! LOL!”

“They serve the best fried chicken dinner. It has the sweetest green beans and other fresh vegetables from the garden at their annual fund raiser.”

“Really enjoyed our visit here today. If you are looking for section markers, I was unable to find any. However if you are trying to find a specific section named on findagrave.com you can find what section you are in by looking up a name where you stand. By doing that, we were able to find our relatives, very quickly. Peaceful and enjoyable time reconnecting.”

“During my darkest days in life losing my husband suddenly at 44 I had no choice but to make arrangements. When I arrived it was pouring rain and I was greeted with an umbrella and walked inside to sit. Don listened to me and offered plots on paper, when he seen my grief he said “let’s go walk around and find the right place for your husband.” He walked in the pouring rain with me!” For about 30 minutes without one complaint. As far as the father and son go my dealings have been more with the son-Paul often referred to as the “Long gray beard”. I’m 4 months in and he still comes by and pats me on the back and asks me if I’m ok and if everything looks good or if I need anything. He stood and listened to me one day when he could clearly see it was all just too much. He has been wonderful. All of these people including the gentlemen cutting grass, working on plots, sales personnel or setting up for services have shown me so much support. Every time I visit I’m greeted with so much kindness. The gentleman cutting grass stopping to wave at me and telling me to keep smiling. Paul walking over to check on me anytime he sees me. But keep in mind I treat them all with respect and have common courtesy when I visit, place items around my husband, and making sure I do not interrupt or hinder someone else’s burial service when I visit. After all they have to cut grass, weed eat, and maintain these plots so minding where and what you put down is courtesy. They are wonderful people and I have no regrets trusting them with my dear husbands resting place. I look forward to seeing them when I visit.”

“Flawless! Every step of the way, from the very start has been well explained, easy to understand, transparent, and smooth. Purchasing burial plots isn't the most exciting transaction. It is also one that no one really want to think about. We didn't want to leave the burden to our children, so we decided to overcome the discomfort and go ahead and do it. Richmond Jewish Cemetery made a uncomfortable transaction into a comfortable and smooth one, where everything was well explained. The pricing is very appropriate, and the conditions of the transactions were flexible, fair and transparent. Can't say enough good thing about Richmond Jewish Cemetery. In addition, our situation was fairly unique, as I am Jewish and my husband isn't. Most Jewish cemeteries would not allow us to be buried "together". Richmond Jewish Cemetery has come up with a thoughtful plan to allow couples like ourselves to still be buried "together" while adhering to all Jewish Laws of burial. I am sure it was not easy to come up with such a thoughtful and seamless plan, yet they managed to do just that!”

“I’ve always found it beautiful and peaceful to walk through here. I’ve seen numerous times people that have left dog waste near the graves so disrespectful. Even seen it on the bridge nearby.”

“We are looking to pre-plan our funeral/plots now. We drove through 5-6 cemeteries in London and West Jefferson. This cemetery, as we drove down the long lane, over the bridge and creek, captured both our hearts right there. As we looked out upon this beautiful resting place, we knew we wanted to rest here together forever. I now need to find out who to go see if any plots by shade are available.”
