“My son came to Dr. Vakharia a few months ago after coming home from college experiencing depression and anxiety resulting in substance abuse issues combined with mental health issues. Working through addiction while dealing with trying to determine what mental health treatments are necessary is extremely difficult. Dr. V has shown exceptional intelligence and compassion while determining why regular antidepressants had not worked over the last year. My son is now on the right track and attending university classes again. His ability to concentrate and complete work assignments has positively influenced his view of his capabilities and self esteem. He just this week was hired for a new job working towards attaining necessary career skills as he builds his portfolio. “Helpful. Safe. Health a priority. Thankful. For those with mental health issues that come here for anxiety and already have a therapist they work with, if you accidentally say too much, they will call DPS officers to handcuff you and then send you off somewhere. You will be put in hand cuffs and shipped off somewhere. It would have been better for me to be alone, go back to my apartment with my roommate, done therapy, the next week, and then hoped for the best. The university wants nothing to do with a student in need in a circumstance like this nor will they follow up or make comment, and you and your family (Mom and Dad, or both, will have to deal with everything afterwards). We're not upset about this, just there has to be a better system to help students that are having a hard time. Many people that are having a hard time refuse help and suffer in silence anyways. My family did not deserve the concern they had to have by sending me to some psych facility nor did the medication at Las Encinas really resolve anything. Also for reference I understood I was LGBTQ+ at the beginning of university at my time beginning in Spring of 2015 so I should have just come out or began to find peers so I can speak of this comfortably and feel okay.”

But the office staff in the office very unprofessional Chrissy was talking about her son and his alcohol problems how she doesn’t care about his alcohol problems which is very unprofessional to be talking about when you have patients in the office especially when you don’t know who’s around and who it could trigger she proceeded to continue talking about it. There’s a place and time for everything but not while patients are near and not for everyone to hear. Normally I don’t make reviews but it was definitely a must if you go in to see him just be prepared for the office staff to talk about their personal life’s and not really attentive. Overall great doctor 10/10”
