“I can’t say enough amazing and incredible things about the extremely talented eye doctor/surgeon, Dr. Mitra Nejad!!! In short, I was living a complete nightmare for 9 months because of a botched cataract surgery. Before that procedure I wore +1.50 low grade prescription glasses for reading, to barely being able to see. My life changed 100% and to say I was miserable is a gross understatement. During those 9 months I did everything I could to find help, I was desperate. My journey was long because I couldn’t find a doctor who knew how to fix my eyesight. Some said it couldn’t be done without “completely losing your eyesight” and the rest said it couldn’t be done… period. Finally one very well respected ophthalmologist told me I was completely screwed and that if it could be fixed it would have to be by a “damn good surgeon”. He then referred me to The Stein Institute at UCLA followed by “that’s where you’ll find some of the best in the country”. That is when my luck changed… the day I met Dr. Mitra Nejad at The Stein Institute/UCLA Medical Center. Professional, caring, highly skilled, highly intelligent, and she knew she could perform this surgery with absolute certainty. Flash forward 3 months, I now have 20/20 vision… don’t need glasses or contacts!!! I am so incredibly blessed to have found her and I’m living proof of her unique skills and what she can do for others. I will never forget this remarkable woman.”

“I did my first ever Hijama/Cupping session yesterday, and I am so happy with my experience. This is a family run practice and they are super professional and kind. They usually open at 11 am but made an exception for me and opened at 10 am. They also took the time to explain the process and gave me advice on which package to pick. They treated me with a lot of care and respect. The room setup is very aesthetic and extremely clean. They informed me that all the cupping materials they use are disposable (one time use only) which made me feel safe. They have a separate room for women, so I had full privacy. The after care instructions were also well explained. I will definitely be returning. They also offer facias, I am excited to try that next. If you are in two minds, dont be. Give them a try, I highly recommend it!”

“Amazing and caring staff here! Very very on top of all medical needs & you actually physically see & talk to a Nurse Practitioner every single day you are there! As well as video appointments with a therapist weekly if not more! Very clean environment & living space! Smoke breaks hourly! Detox is rough but I see why they do it the way they do! Group meetings all day long, 8am-930pm every single day(some learning, some music, some games, some coloring or journaling, some patient picks, and some therapeutic)meal breaks(3-30 minute meals) & smoke breaks every 10 til the hour! Lots to drink, healthy snacks, you keep your cellphone on you at all times!! State provides meals, snacks, drinks, cigarettes(yes smokes), transportation, hygiene, medication, and even clothing or shoes if you have none!!! I met the most amazing & the most kind hearted people at this place! Thank you Northwoods and thank you STACEY for helping me get into Rehab as fast as you did! 5-7 people within 2-3 days she got placed! Thank you everyone for your kindness while I was in such an emotional and fragile state I was in & being new to that type of assistance! Prayers I never have to come again but will choose your facility if I have to 1,000 times over!!!”

“My son came to Dr. Vakharia a few months ago after coming home from college experiencing depression and anxiety resulting in substance abuse issues combined with mental health issues. Working through addiction while dealing with trying to determine what mental health treatments are necessary is extremely difficult. Dr. V has shown exceptional intelligence and compassion while determining why regular antidepressants had not worked over the last year. My son is now on the right track and attending university classes again.
