“I have found staff to be most helpful, patient with some challenging folks in front of me in line and willing to assist with on-line technical difficulties. I was sorry to see previous review (from Jubill), but I did not want folks to feel that all experiences at the Onsted branch were like that.”

“The most wonderful and helpful library in the entire county... In my opinion, anyway. Pre-Covid, the Pine Valley Library was the social, educational, and intellectual hub of the town. DVDs to check out, computers available for research, books at hand to check out plus the ability to transfer books to our small town from any library in the entire state of California. Plus, the librarians are not merely exceptional at their work, but they have also become friends. After twenty years of Pine Valley life, the library is among my very favorite spots in our small town. 10 out of 10, definitely recommend!!”

“My new favorite Public Library find! Beyond even just being in a sculpture garden, this is A treasure indeed as there is both a WORKING payphone out front and a bike repair station. Restrooms are large and clean at the entrance, with family restrooms just inside the entry way and as a single story building, wheelchair friendly. I was delighted to see an entirely separate safe space teen zone. Impressed at the variety of languages of newspapers, extensive dvd collection, lots of reading and study spaces. Wifi and electrical outlets, as well as a variety of efforts to make literature accessible to all.”

“Brand new big library opened in Sept 2019! It is spacious, modern, and welcoming. Forget all those previous reviews of it being cute and small! There is one big main room with the books, dvds and computers. Then there are about 3? small rooms for quiet study or meetings or lectures. A separate big room for kid books, with toy furniture, like a castle, that opens to the outdoor play area. A very big room (approx.1,000sq.ft) that has some tall cafe style tables, but can be used for BIG meetings (150? people). This brings the library into the modern age thanks to a Library District tax, and other donations. Now I'm anxiously awaiting (hopefully) a big increase in programs, talks, arts/crafts, authors etc. A very friendly and knowledgeable staff!! The bldg is made from the local red sandstone and is beautiful. It has its own free parking lot.”

Address: 6006 Everglade Rd, Dallas, TX 75227, USA
“This is one of the best and one of the most unusual libraries in the Dallas Public Library system. It's located south of White Rock Hills, just past I30 in a very nice middle to upper middle class neighborhood. Beautiful Everglade Park is just across the street, as is a DART bus stop. The library grounds are liberally planted with trees, both deciduous and evergreen. The building appears low to the ground, with a steep brown shingled roof and off-white stucco exterior. The landscaping is very pleasing to the eye and twin benches outside the entrance welcome you to sit for a spell. The interior is quite surprising: high vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, an appearance which brought to my mind a ski lodge. This is further reinforced by the upper section, closed except for meetings and activities, accessed by a steep stairway. Also, there is an actual fireplace in the Children's section! A librarian informed me that it is actually functional. In part because the building is sectioned off by arched dividers and walls, and partly because the steep roof causes the ceiling to drop down to 8' at the walls, the library has an intimate feel. Groupings of comfortable chairs with tables help accentuate that feeling. I'm very happy to report that the library has a really big selection of Adult Fiction and Nonfiction, as well as Children's and Spanish-language books. The other sections, including CDs, DVDs and PCs, are all more than adequately supplied. I think it's great that the library appears to have sacrificed nothing by having such a wonderfully large selection of books. Worth a trip, even if you don't live in the neighborhood!”

“I really enjoy this little Library. I don't really see a need for them to demolish this and start over again. There isn't enough foot traffic here on most days for the library to be much bigger. The staff is very friendly and it is always an enjoyable experience.”

“Good old Mudd Library. Many fond(ish) memories from college studying in the various sections and levels. I was a huge A-Level fan when I was in school at Oberlin, but I believe it has since been remodeled and no longer has the section I used to sit in. No matter, I spent a fair amount of time on the 4th level which was SUPER quiet, which is what I wanted. The upgraded computers, lounge, and Mac lab in the basement provide just about everything you need. I (almost) miss Mudd.”
