“Wow I can’t describe how grateful for the service provided in this Animal hospital. My dog was in a very critical condition. She wouldn’t eat and and her stomach was very bloated because she was diagnosed with pyometra and she only had a 1-2 days to live. The picture in the left is how she look with the infection. I took her to other animal hospital and they would made me wait so much time to just see my dog and the surgery price was very high . If you want your pet to be treated quick, reasonable price, and friendly service then this is the right place for your pet. My family and I are very grateful because now we can peacefully be at home with our dog.”

“Our poor pup got a UTI and by the time we figured out what it was, most other vet clinics were either closed or couldn't make an appointment until the following day, but when we called CV Vet Hospital they said they could squeeze us in right before they close, so thank you again! We feel so much better that she was able to get some antibiotics to start the healing so she doesn't have to suffer for an entire extra day!! Great staff, I would definitely recommend!”

Cattails helped my cat after a bad dental surgery left him in pain and not healing properly and for that alone I’m eternally grateful. “We discovered this Clinic by searching out local animal surgery centers. Not only were they the most reasonably priced they are local. Our Mastiff had TPLO surgery on her leg. Everything went very well. She healed wonderfully and fully recovered. We also take our Boston there for yearly check ups and nail jobs. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The Vets are top in their fields. After being to every Vet in Hernando County THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE TO TAKE YOUR PET IF YOU LOVE THEM. I have had vets do guess work and actually say to me, I'm not a good Vet. The people here love and care for your pet. They can do anything that is needed, you don't have to go somewhere else for surgery. Their prices are extremely reasonable and affordable. This is a 5 star veterinarian.”

“Don't do it! BUT if you do bring your dogs here to crop their ears. I brought my doberman and let me tell you they look beautiful. At first I was scared due to some of the reviews but I never had an issue with anyone. The Dr. spoke with me before and after surgery which was reassuring. Everyone is also really nice especially Gloria who does the tapping afterwards. Only negative thing is the phones tend to be busy since they are so busy. I found it best to call after lunch. Here's a picture of my baby, enjoy. P.s. try not to do ear cropping during the rainy season. Her tape got wet multiple times which made the process so much longer and frustrating.”

“Dr. Purdee and her team have taken excellent care of my dog Lydia and my cat Raisin, both for routine care and getting us in for emergencies. Everyone that I have encountered there are absolute super stars when it comes to understanding worried pet parents and handling them (me!) with the ultimate kindness. The level of medicine practiced by all the vets and technicians here is unparalleled and I can't recommend them highly enough! Don't be swayed by people who have difficulty with changed hospital ownership or complain about prices (isn't that always what a negative review is about?). I don't think the prices are any different than any other vet hospital in the area. They are always very professional, skilled, knowledgeable, and compassionate. What more could I ask for?”

“I've always had good experience here. The office visit dosent cost anything, which is amazing. They don't charge an arm and a leg for any medication your animal needs. The most expensive bill I've ever gotten was 150$ and that was for a couple things for that day. The only down side is you have to have an appointment now. That's fine till you have an emergency. In which case they send you to Mansfield emergency room and that place is $$$$$$! I don't have 1500$ for something everyone else charges 300 for. That was the literal price difference when I went there. Other than that this is a great vet.”

“Had to take our dog Charlie in tonight for bloody stool, which was exactly as horrifying and nerve-racking as you could imagine. We were thankfully seen right away, and they were able to complete blood work and fecal test on site immediately, and provided the results shortly after. Our Vet Tech was amazing at handling Charlie (he’s a BIG boy), and she did not scare him once the whole time. Charlie received exam, testing, diagnosis, treatment, and we were checked out all within 1 hour and 15 minutes. Our Vet Tech, Veterinarian, and Receptionist tonight were all exceptional helping us and are so clearly hard workers with arguably some of the most challenging jobs in the world. Couldn’t be more thankful for having them and this emergency vet available just down the road.”

“Dr. Shaffer has been our kitties vet for several years. She is undeniably passionate about her call in treating animals/our babies! Over the years Dr. Shaffer has lovingly taken very serious care of our kitties in times of illness, the passing of one of our babies (kitty), and just regular health care in general. She is so kind and patient while answering any and all questions you may have about your pet's care. Her staff is incredible! No matter how busy they are...they make you feel as if your fur baby/animal's needs are extremely important to them! Over the years, even while on medical leave and struggling financially, there wasn't a time our kitties health needs weren't met by Dr. Shaffer! She offers affordable care that is absolutely PRICELESS!!! I am an Army Veteran and I've said many times...I wish Dr. Shaffer was my Veteran doctor (PCP and all specialties!:)...because the care she provides to our kitties has been hands down more diligent and superior than even my own medical care that I receive as a human!!! “I love the balance of people skills and professional services. Our little pup is getting old 15 and needed a surgery. He recovered nicely after the work. The pic is him wearing a shirt to protect the stitches. Though it was expensive, the estimate clearly showed where the money was going and the actual bill was less than the estimate because they completed the work quickly. While it's never "fun" to visit the doctor, I felt this clinic had the skills for fluffy and charged fairly. I'll bring him back. Recommend.”
