A very inique experience on Pelee Ialand. So glad we did this tour it was like nothing we have ever seen before.

Definitely worth visiting - but be sure to book a tour online - don't just show up at the gate and expect entry. This is an exclusive venue with a fascinating history and some startling surprises in the restored ruins. One of the oldest oak trees in North America is here (estimated to be 450 years old) on the property, but deserved more attention during the tour.

The Vin Villa ruins are some of the most amazing, loved restoration projects I have ever had the delight of touring. Our tour guides were amazing, you can really understand how much they are preserving history and paying respect to the Canadian Indigenous cultures which used to live on their lands. Along with this history, the more modern era in wine making was incredible.

The cellar is one of those sights you cannot get out of your mind. The huge iron doors and beautiful stain glass as soon as walk down with seeing the pictures of how it used to be a mud pit - amazing.

It's amazing to think that I've lived in Windsor-Essex my whole life and yet had never heard of this place. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone, but whether you're a history buff, a wine connoisseur or just enjoy local charm, then you MUST take this tour. Best time spent on the island to date!
