Best of the best. From reception and Kevin meeting us to bring our bags in from the car, to the amazing breakfasts prepared so lovingly by Cathy, this couple has taken care to make sure every detail is perfect. How could I even begin? Clean and quiet rooms and bathrooms, relaxing common areas to unwind, play board games or have drinks. 2 minute walk to see the sun rise. There are umbrellas, bug spray, water to fill our cups, 24 hour tea station, books, soft music, board games, and more. I can’t even name it all. And then to boot, my husband left his wallet in the night stand. We couldn’t go back because our car was already jammed in on the ferry. One phone call and Kevin was on it! He delivered the wallet right to the ferry dock with zero minutes to spare! Thank God for such amazing hosts, LITERALLY going the extra mile! We will be back!

Home away from home. Cathy and her team created the perfect environment to relax and enjoy the island. The room was comfortable, with plenty of space to spread out and unwind. Cathy's breakfasts went above and beyond, both in terms of quality and selection. The Inn is thoughtfully designed, with plenty to do on the occasional rainy day. The hosts made us feel very welcome, without being at all intrusive. The island is a real gem of tranquility and warmth in a world that seems increasingly busy and cold. We hope to return. If you're on the fence about visiting Pelee Island and staying with Cathy and her team at the Wandering Dog Inn, do it. You won't regret it!

We had such a great stay at the Wandering Dog Inn in August 2025. The room and amenities were wonderful, but the owners, Kevin and Cathy, truly made our stay unforgettable. Kevin is around in the evenings to help with anything that comes up, light the campfire, and have a beer with. Cathy opens in the mornings with an amazing breakfast spread of pastries, eggs, toast and waffles, cereal, fresh juice, tea and coffee, fresh fruit, etc. They are both friendly and knowledgeable about the island. They were so helpful and offered to open up the breakfast a few minutes early on our departure day so we could grab a bite to eat and still depart to get to the ferry terminal in time.

Our King Suite was spotless. It was large and well lit, and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was very nice, with fresh towels, soap and shampoo, etc. The air conditioning worked great even in stifling humidity.

We can't recommend the inn enough!

If you’re lucky enough to find an available room, book it! Pack your bikes or rent once you get here and plan to feel the relaxation seeping in! Pelee Island is a laid back, old timey getaway, with the Wandering Dog offering the best of the island’s updated, sparkling clean rooms & suites. The Inn is steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful gardens, lush lawn, a the best beaches and moonlit shoreline steps away. Kathy serves up an extensive ‘continental’ breakfast with eggs, fresh whole and cut up fruits, homemade seasonal baked goods, fresh yogurt and the yummiest coffee worthy of 3 refills!!! Kevin added plenty of laughs to our evenings with his dry wit and was considerate to throw our soaking wet beach towels into the dryer. Kathy & Kevin have thought of everything so you don’t have to. Thanks for an unforgettable weekend and for sharing your island.

A truly unforgettable stay!
My friend and I spent a beautiful weekend at The Wondering Dog Inn on Pelee Island, and everything exceeded our expectations. The room was spotless and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The outdoor space was absolutely stunning — we loved relaxing in the garden, using the fire pit, the gazebo, and the barbecue area. It felt like a peaceful escape surrounded by nature.

One of the highlights was that the inn is just steps away from the beach, which gave us the chance to enjoy an absolutely breathtaking sunrise — truly a magical moment we will never forget.

What made our stay even more special was Kevin and Cathy. They were not just professional — they were incredibly kind, warm, and attentive. Every time they saw us, they checked in with genuine care, asking if we needed anything. Their passion, dedication, and personal touch made us feel so welcomed and valued, like we were staying with family.

Breakfast was another highlight! There was a wide variety of healthy and high-quality options — a perfect start to each day.

If you’re looking for a cozy, relaxing, and heartwarming experience, this is the place to be. We will definitely be back!
