Realstar would have to look far and wide to find anyone as competent and friendly as the managers Carolyn and Lorenz. COVID has made life a tad difficult for all in the community, but the managers have done their best to make our home safe and secure without making us feel that our freedoms have been restricted. Mind you, we will be happy to see life return to normal so we can once again enjoy the social activities that usually are a part of life in our building we like to call home. The residents are friendly, quiet and respectful of one another and the apartment building is kept well maintained and comfortable. “I lived in these apartments for a year and although it was sometimes difficult to get in touch with management, generally my experience was good. My oven developed a gas leak halfway through our lease and we were not charged to replace it, although it did take a week for them to get a new oven. Neighbors are polite and friendly, I never felt unsafe in this complex. There is lots of green space out front and porches on the complexes if you like to spend time outdoors. Aside from the oven, I never had any maintenance issues and only $12 was taken from our security deposit because of damage to blinds that very likely happened due to my cat. My one recommendation is to just stay on top of management if you need something, and they will get back to you eventually!! Smaller maintenance requests were always fulfilled within 24 hours. If you're looking for an affordable apartment to live in Highland Park, this is a good option! One final caveat is that parking enforcement in the lots behind the complex is slim to none, and people will often double park in the lots. Most people who park in the lots live there, but not necessarily all of them. Honestly, just street park your car, it's not worth it to fight for a spot. I've seen several instances of damaged cars because they were double parked in the lots.”
