Best Language School ever. I went to many and this is really the only one where I learnt a lot, met incredible people and had such a great time. If I could have stayed more than a month, I would have. Go there, you won't regret!

I have participated in a number of courses at Goethe Institute Freiburg, from the beginner's level A2 all the way through to the advanced C1. Every teacher was exceptionally patient, passionate and communicated clearly, not only through what they said, but also through their body language and facial expressions - especially useful for the beginners who are just starting out and cannot yet fully comprehend everything that is being said to them in German. Not only were the teachers fully supportive, but also all the staff in the office, and the staff in the in-house library / study space (Mediothek). The student accommodation (Gästehaus) was top-notch - the rooms, furniture, kitchens and common areas were great and well equipped, and located less than 10 minutes away by foot from the school.

The classroom was real modern too. Classes were taught on a digital whiteboard, of which every page was saved and made available online. A digital diary was also prepared daily by the teacher, outlining what was taught on that day, and the expected homework. Not only did we learn through completing exercises in a Textbook, but through regular excursions into the city in which we interact with real Germans in real life situations, or through German movie trailers and songs, working together in groups discussing current topics and expressing personal experiences. Personal requests could also be made to the teacher to cover specific topics that a student had particular difficulty with, and the teacher always made efforts to incorporate the requests into the following day's teaching plan.

The Culture and Leisure Team offered every day of the week an event to participate in, from dance classes, hiking in the Black Forest, city tours, brewery tours, drink-ups in the city, barbecues, cooking classes, to excursions to nearby cities such as Colmar and Strassbourg in France, oder Basel and Lucern in Switzerland.

The courses are indeed expensive but the experience is absolutely worth it.

I highly recommend Goethe-Institut Freiburg. I took a 4-week Intensiv B2.1 class in July 2018 (with a scholarship from the DAAD). I had not yet completed B1, so I was a little behind at the start, but my teacher Marianne was so helpful and I quickly got up to speed. She used a variety of different teaching methods, including working in pairs on grammar, doing small group projects, and various games. The teachers varied a lot on homework. We always had 3 hours of homework a night, but the other B2.1 section had no homework.

The cultural programs were well-organized. I enjoyed visiting Colmar and Titisee, cooking Flammkuchen, and attending local concerts and events.

My only complaint is the housing. You are living with 18-21 year-olds who never learned to clean up after themselves and can be quite noisy. The top floor of the dorm is a noisy youth hostel, which led to weeks of poor sleep. I rarely cooked, because the kitchen was so messy by dinner time (it was cleaned every morning, but people wouldn't clean up after themselves). Also, in the summer it is very hot and there is no ceiling fan or AC in the rooms, just a tiny "Proklima" desk fan that doesn't do the job. I was on the ground floor, so I didn't want to risk leaving my window open at night.

Accommodation aside, I was deeply impressed with Goethe. I noticed such a huge difference by the end of the program, as did my teachers back at home.

Friendly staff and affordable prices. I would definitely use them again and recommend!

This school is the best school in Freiburg. I had classes Goethe institute and others in Freiburg. Some school doesn't listen to student's ask and don't understand on foreigner 's side. But Goethe people are always doing best for Students. Information workers are nice, kind and understanding. All staff at this school are open and communicating to students. They are proud and dedicated to their work
Classes quality are the best. They are always open and help me. Even if it is not their business, when I fell difficulties, I can ask them. They don't mind communicate with students. I love this school. I can survive in Germany because of their helps. Thank you very much!
