Unforgettable experience, easy to get there, just do it
Best place on earth.. But to experience that feeling, you need to like cars a bit..
Lucky enough to be in the area for the DTM so grabbed some tickets for the Friday practice session. Cheap tickets with a pick of seating (that you could change during the day) along with access to the paddock.
The circuit itself is amazing and steeped in history. Lots of fabulous vantage points around the track as well.
The Nurburgring! What can I say?
Definitely an absolute must for all petrol heads! This should be on everybody's bucket list, to drive the Nordschleife the Green Hell, wether it's in your own car a rental car or from one of the many local rental companies or even in a ring taxi this is a box that needs to be ticked!!
But whatever you do don't crash! It's very expensive! So drive carefully and within your own abilities, do not get carried away by people in slower cars going faster, this will happen! Just treat it like a fast road and enjoy it! But be warned it's addictive...
Check the official Nurburgring website calendar for opening times, make sure it's open when you plan to be there! Many people make the mistake of turning up and then finding out it isn't open that day, because the Nordschleife is NOT open every day for Touristenfahrten.
Oh and one other tip, check the opening times for the Nurburgring Grand Prix track as they occasionally do Touristenfahrten there as well, it costs for one 15 minute session the same as one lap of the Nordschleife, definitely recommended.
Additionally if there is a VLN race on go check it out, they are always on a Saturday, 9 per year they start at 12.00pm midday and are 4 hours long, go to the pits or one of the many viewing locations like Brunnchen or Breidscheid.
