Santa Magdala Hotel Boutique

Santa Magdala is a wonderful family boutique hotel. Hector was amazing with the recommendations he provided us, including recommending a wine tour. We definitely will return.

My husband and I recently traveled from NE Ohio to the West Coast. As part of our vacation, we drove down to Mexico and spent four (4) nights at the Santa Magdala Hotel. Our experience here was completely amazing!

Hector, the manager, communicated clearly with my husband prior to the trip, making sure we had the room of our choice, information about the area, and contacts for a concierge service with whom to plan outings. Upon our arrival, Hector was there for us. He greeted us with a warm welcome, keys, information, recommendations for a dinner spot, and the offer to assist with anything we needed. We visited the bar that afternoon, which was tended by the incomparable Hector. The owner of Santa Magdala, Alberto, and his family came to welcome us. They were all so kind, and we enjoyed the Mexican wine and engaging conversation! Alberto is a true visionary, and has created a beautiful and artistic home away from home. His daughter, Gaby was so kind and fun to chat with! Christina was so interesting and intelligent, and I loved conversing with her about careers, politics, and passions! All of this was only our first day!

As our visit continued, we immensely enjoyed the comfortable bed and bedding, we loved having coffee on our front porch where we were visited by a hummingbird each morning, we delighted in walking around the property and taking in the art and history of this establishment. The dogs (Heidi and Kira) were adorable, and helped us miss our pups a little less (but they will leave you alone if you are not interested in dogs). The hot tub and swimming pool were wonderful and beautifully crafted. As you listened to the waterfall while soaking, you were transported to a true oasis where the outside world ceased to exist.

I cannot say enough good things about our time at Santa Magdala, and my words do not do justice to the experience we had. If you are looking for a true home away from home, and a staff that feels like family, I wholeheartedly recommend this incredible boutique hotel. We cannot wait to return.

We stayed in the Coral room, and it was great. But the best thing about our stay was Héctor, the manager. He was so attentive and capable from before our arrival, through our stay, and until checkout. He had excellent restaurant suggestions and got us reservations at busy places and times. He was also super attentive about keeping the facilities ready for us to use. The resort is in an "interesting" area of El Sauzal, but they make up for it with their comfortable rooms and superior service.

This place is very clean. Place is quiet and relaxing. Customer service is amazing. I forgot a pair of shorts and they went as far as texting me to let me know. They have a small bar that is open until 9pm by the pool and jacuzzi. Super happy with this place.

We didn't stay because we already had a place, but from the photos on Google Maps, I had to check it out. It was true to the photos, very pretty place. Well tended and imaginative landscaping.
