Great spot to chill and disconnect fron the noisy city, Fernando the host is super kind and friendly, coffee shop next is delicious

Very tranquil experience. I came here from Los Ángeles to escape the city and found myself driving through winery’s and grape fields in a valley surrounded with low rolling mountains and a very warm sunny welcome.

Owners, Fernando and Annabella, were amazing! Their attention to detail and hospitality really completed the experience.

Arrived to a spacious 200acre property just along the road that has a few cozy cabins tucked aside some grape fields and a cute pine forest with a creek at the very back.

Upon arriving you will see many little beautiful succulent gardens with cute art decor surrounding the cabins.

There is a cool green hexagonal shaded hangout area amongst the pine forest and cabins that looks to the east out immediately at grape fields and out to rolling mountains with a couple hammocks to chill in.

Underneath the cool, calming green shade there is a picnic table, a bbq setup, with some tables and benches for enjoying the warm Ensenada air but keeping out of the hot sun.

Each cabin is unique in antique furniture and decor and has an amazing shower in each bathroom. Beds were clean and cozy each time we went, which would be three different rooms now. (Hell yea)

Kitchen is in separate locked cabin. Ask owners for the key.

No TV, but wifi works.

We played music, smoked, drank wine, played frisbee and chilled. It was nice to be amongst nature secluded from the local busy city life. We looked at the stars and also watched Netflix on an iPad to pass the time.

Each time we stayed we had neighbors and were friendly with them because we shared the parking lot mostly but never noticed them or even our own kids once they were inside the cabins.

Right down the road from some amazing wine, amazing coffee, amazing brunch, and amazing restaurants. La Bufadora is not far. Fernando can show you to a nearby hot springs for a price.

Watch when you book, there can be events going on, weekend pricing, last minute bookings, etc. that affect pricing. Book now and plan ahead. The first one we booked was last minute during an eventful weekend, and reflected a difference from the next couple bookings as they were typically very affordable for the experience and services provided.

Fernabella's Lodge is a great place for a weekend getaway to the Baja California wine country. You will find yourself falling in love with the lodge and all its rustic charm and little quirks. However, a fancy hotel experience, this is not.

The room is fairly standard with a bed, bathroom, wardrobe, fans, and two chairs. There is no television or refrigerator but you will not find yourself missing them much. The rustic charm extends indoors with all the antiques that decorate the room and make it an inviting place to rest after a long day spent sampling wines and taking in all that the valley has to offer. We became rather friendly with the many, many little frogs that call the grounds home.

The lodge’s location was safe, secluded, and quiet but right on Ruta del Vino, making for convenient drives to the various wineries in the vicinity and a short, 30 minute drive into Ensenada. We did, however, experience some difficulty locating an ATM and quick breakfast options nearby.

Fernando and Anabella, our hosts, were so sweet, welcoming us as their second ever visitors. They were also helpful to us as we drove in from the border, giving us directions along the safest route to their location. What’s more, they were waiting to greet us when we arrived and filled us in about the property (used to run a restaurant on the grounds) and about the Valle de Guadalupe. Throughout the weekend, they answered all our questions promptly through text.
