(May 29, 2021, 3:12 pm)On this particular visit to the town of Puerto Nuevo, the whole pueblo was packed. There was no parking available and all of the Ortega Restaurants had unbelievable lines. So, I went to Restaurant Puerto Nuevo and I got a table in about 5 minutes. The customer service: excellent. The food: every bit as good as Ortegas. The price: 3 lobster halves, rice, beans, homemade flour tortillas, chips & salsa and a Tecate beer for the equivalent of $26 U.S. Dollars. I was very happy.
(October 6, 2018, 5:28 am)We really enjoyed our experience at Restaurante Puerto Nuevo. The service was very professional and throughout the meal very attentive. We ordered a few starters but recommend to keep the chip eating and starters to a minimum. This restaurant is known for its lobster burritos, which are delicious but fill you up! The tortillas are massive (see photo)! So I used half of the tortilla to create the burrito and it was more than sufficient. I made my burrito with half a tortilla, some refried beans, a large spoonful of rice and 1/2 of a lobster tail. The lobster was very fresh and very inexpensive. I was so full after 2, 1/2 tortilla burritos that I could not indulge in the dessert: pastel de tres leches and flan for the table. But thwy looked tasty. Great meal, great service and great ambiance!
(September 28, 2018, 1:30 pm)Very friendly and attentive staff. Had the grilled octopus as a starter and the lobster ranchero style. Delicious! If you are a couple, you can split the meal as they are generous portions. Nice atmosphere and they don’t hassle you like the other restaurants closer to the water. You will even most likely have a mariachi band come in and serenade the crowd!
