Fantastic hidden gem outside of Ensenada! This was a part of a cruise excursion, but it seems like a local favorite as well. The staff were amazing and incredibly knowledgable. We learned all about the dairy and their process for cheese and ice cream making, as well as the history of the family that founded it. Our visit included samplings of their different cheeses, a local wine, and lunch. I would highly recommend to anyone taking a cruise with a port stop in Ensenada or staying in the region on their own. It was about a 45-60 min drive, but it was well worth it!
A really nice cheese farm with a long history providing dairy goods to the community. The sampling cheese in the cave was a truly unique experience. The farm also has different animals like llamas and they brought a bunch of puppies for my kids to play with. Did this as part of a Royal Caribbean cruise excursion. It's a bit far from Ensenada tho. (1-1.5 hrs each way)
Great tour at the Ramonetti Cheese cellar in Ojos Negros, BC. (Also known as La Cava dr Marcelo).
For 300 pesos ($US15) you get a 1+ hour tour of the cheese making and aging process (including visiting the stables and seeing the cows 🐮 ). You get to try 10+ cheeses 🧀 paired with wine 🍷 and beer 🍺, and their ice cream 🍨.
After the tour, we had a wonderful dinner.
Their house wine 🍷 was very good and we had an amazing lengua (tongue) appetizer and risotto.
You won’t regret it!
A 50 minute Trip from Ensenada is well worth your time.
Food was good nice atmosphere. We got there late so didnt get to do the tour.
