This place is a little hidden but worth the drive, the food was good, they just need to improve their service, it took too long for drinks and food to get served, I believe they have new staff and maybe this is the reason why service was lagging.
Lots of good food places in Valle de Guadalupe but before going anywhere else you must have breakfast at Wa Kumiai.
It is small yet cosy open place with a great atmosphere. Mrs Tabita makes the best flour tortillas in Mexico.
My favorite breakfast place in Valle de Guadalupe from now own.
Every so often, I drive to the Kumiai community to enjoy the kitchen of Tabita. I particularly go for lamb or borrego in spanish. Food is great, service is great at a very good price. Truly recommend.
Spectacular and authentic food! Simply the best breakfast restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe area. Unmissable!
The service is excellent, you really feel at home.
Amazing food and excellent service. The best menudo in the entire world! I loved the optional pig's foot. Nobody could translate and a table spoke up to help us and I was very excited that it was a foot and received a nice laugh. My bf ordered the chilequiles with meat. He loved it and it was a huge, filling dish. Tortillas were excellent, some of the best ever! And the cinnamon coffee, wow! So glad we tried this place, I am very interested in the Kumiai, living in San Diego, and am currently studying a Kumeyaay book in Ethnobotany in my free time. I wish we had more time to spend in the area, I would love to come back. Very peaceful, quiet place.
