A perfectly comfortable, funny, and educational tour all at once that will take you through some incredibly beautiful canals! The small boat sizes make it very friendly and personal as well, and it doesn’t feel rushed at all. I booked this after reading all the amazing reviews and my friends and I all agree it’s the highlight of our trip.
Best Amsterdam boat tour !
They do small group tours in a small open boat, with a great guide (shoutout to Rob for being a fabulous guide !) who will answer all your questions and give you good advices.
The trajectory of the tour isn't planned in advance so they can take you anywhere you want !
One of our best experiences in Amsterdam ! Thank you !
WOW! What an amazing ‘dam’ experience! My only regret is not having done this on the first day of my time in Amsterdam. The tour was a perfect introduction to the city! Our guide provided the context of Amsterdam, necessary in building a foundation for exploring this dense and lively place.
The guide was down to earth and was well studied but not robotic or scripted. He included personal flare, a passionate way of story telling, and asked us questions allowing the experience to be engaging and adapted to our group. He managed to recall detailed facts and wove together the fibres of Amsterdam’s fruition, all while driving a boat through areas allowing us to see the commentary come to life in front of us! He spoke to Amsterdams social context, history, achievements and downfalls. As a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, I was enamoured when he discussed the history of a gay memorial, a spot that other guests said their previous tours hadn’t mentioned.
The guide did an excellent job of relating Amsterdam to various home countries of our group and managed to weave in storied from WWII, the 1400-1500s, modern day social context of Amsterdam, the economy, architecture, city design, restaurant and activity recommendations.
Ina edition: The boat ride itself was a lovely relaxing way of seeing the city: It provided a perspective, unique from that when cycling or walking.
I, unfortunately, have forgotten our guides name, but i can tell you that he is from South Africa, has been living in Amsterdam for 10 years, and he moved to Amsterdam for love.
Thank you for the passionate and inspiring tour!
We have done other canal cruises in Amsterdam, but this one is the BEST! We love the smaller boat with fewer people. The tour took us through many of the smaller waterways where the larger boats cannot take you. We had so much fun learning about the city and the canal system from our amazing captain, Joel. The boat is clean, comfortable and safe. You get a great view from every seat on board. You can bring food and drinks or just relax and enjoy the tour. Captain Joel's tour is extremely informative and entertaining. We 100% recommend!
We had a great boat ride experience. The captain, David is very friendly, knowledgeable and most of all, makes his guests feel at ease alone the trip.
There were 8 of us, us two and the other 3 couples who were friends. A nice bunch and we got on well. Talked about our trips and plans for the trip while enjoying the ride.
You can bring your own drinks/snacks or alternatively, you can order drinks from Those Dam Boat Guys with your ticket which you can collect at their office which is what we did. A small cool box was given to us for the boat.
Highly recommend these guys! The staff member at the office was friendly too.
