Amazing place in Amsterdam to buy anything and everything for your kitchen - from pots and pans to mixers, blenders and more, a whole room full of knifes, a whole room full of cutlery, and yet another full of baking equipment. I had bookmarked this spot a long time ago as a newcomer to this city. My partner and I spent a whole Sunday evening wandering around and bought some great things. The staff speaks English and are very friendly. It also seems to be a Very popular place - unsure if they were tourists or locals.

Amazing store, amazing people, and amazing service.

Yes, I realize my headline screams "AMERICAN! They give compliments so easily!"

While this may have been true when I moved here 11 years ago, the Dutch have taught me to refrain from too many compliments and to tone down my effusiveness. ("Doe normaal!!!")

But in the case of Duikelman's store, I cannot hold back: They deserve the most effusive praise available.

I bought my dream oven here - something I had saved up for a long time. David treated me with respect, answered all my questions, and remained patient with me while it took me 2-3 months (!!) to decide - during which time I am confident I sent him 234 emails with questions ;. After I made my purchase,, he helped me solve about 38 little things - from the logistics of getting it into my house to hiring the movers for me to do the job to even storing with my oven a refrigerator I had bought elsewhere (!!!) so the items could be delivered together.

All the Duikelman staff I talked to were so helpful and kind - and always followed up.

I want to buy all my kitchen items here. I will also work hard to make sure any gift I give this holiday will be from this store as well.

A business that is so well-run deserves our hard-earned money because they work hard to earn it. :)

Amazing place for cooks and bakers, great variety. A bit pricy but worth the experience.
