Wereldmuseum Amsterdam

Very nice building and interesting expositions! Highly reccomended to everyone who interested in Holland colonial influence within the world.

Interesting museum with an interesting take on colonial ancestry of the Netherlands. That was a predominant theme in the museum. Various exhibitions on many floors. The central hall is a beautiful place, although its vast emptiness feels there's something missing. Would be a good place for some huge highlights of a temporary exhibition etc. Despite visible efforts, the navigation leaves much to improve.

WOW! The Exhibit on getting rich was wonderfully done. I also enjoyed learning about colonization and well as pilfering and then the music room. So much to enjoy. Be sure to walk over to the slave monument in Oosterpark while you let the art soak in.

A wonderful museum with interesting temporary exhibitions and a very interesting main exhibition that makes you think about colonialism and other phenomena in the world around us and our history. A lot of interesting objects and videos/audios, I spent here probably 4 hours, and I still had a shortage. In addition, there is a small but interesting shop and a nice cafe where you can have a snack while sightseeing. I started sightseeing in the morning, so despite Sunday it wasn't crowded.

I highly recommend visiting this beautiful museum to see the current exhibition, "Someone is getting rich". Powerful and important the exhibition is a collection of works by contemporary artists on the theme of the history of finance and it’s evolution from colonialism to the current system with the challenges facing our world today. More of a "must see" than Vermeer!
