(December 10, 2018, 5:06 pm)Stopped for a pint and a bite to eat after a nearby mud run, was very welcoming and cosy. Shame the open fire was not lit but it wasn't all that cold. Bar girl was friendly and attentive.

Beds comfy, clean rooms, absolutely brilliant food!!
Lovely welcoming staff made me feel right at home.
Tiffany behind the bar stood out particularly, nothing was to much to ask of her, brilliant service.
They have a beautiful fire place, it was a shame it was so hot when I stayed.
I would definitely stay again.
(August 16, 2018, 9:12 pm)Stayed at the Chequers Inn with family, we read the reviews after booking and were slightly put off by the bad reviews, however, we were pleasantly surprised. We booked two rooms, which both had two double beds. The rooms and their contents are fairly old fashioned, but they are clean and are in the process of being renovated as the bathrooms are more modern. Not sure about the huge lump of metal attached to the room keys, as this was quite heavy and I wouldn't want to be carrying it around for long! We only stayed for one night and didn't stay for breakfast, but the rooms were clean and the beds were comfy! Had a great night's sleep!

Staff extremely helpful. Food Very good. Breakfast continental. Free but limited Safe parking outside on main road. Good option if going to Lingfield races. Or good base to explore local places of interest. Highly recommended
