We went for a walk with Jonnie today and we had a great time. Jonnie is an excellent storyteller, very witty and very funny . I recommend it.
Whether you are a Londoner born and bred, or a visitor - a Bowl of Chalk guided walk is a must! These aren't your run of the mill, commercial, clichéd guided walks...you won't be straining to hear your guide from the back of a large, disparate group. Rather, these are unique, informal walks, led by the personable Jonnie who manages to be informative, knowledgeable and funny. You'll pick up tons of fascinating facts and anecdotes about London, and you may even make some new friends on the way.
Jonnie’s walks are wonderful! I’m a Londoner myself and leaned so much about areas I thought I new. It was like discovering a new London!
Besides from the great content of the walk (I went on a street art walk in east London), Jonnie is a really lovely guy and a pleasure to spend the time with.
I plan on gifting walks to friends and family.
My girlfriend and I booked a walk with Bowl of Chalk for her birthday. It was absolutely brilliant. Jonnie sets such a relaxed atmosphere, it really does feel like walking with friends... if your friends knew loads of truly interesting things about London. I would (and have) suggested these walks to anyone even if they live in London like I do.
I look forward to booking again
If you're hoping for a tour guide dressed as a Beefeater spouting scripted facts about Kings & Queens then I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. If you're more interested in finding out a tonne of weird, wonderful and lesser-known facts about this amazing city then you're in for a treat!
The thing that sets Bowl of Chalk apart is Jonnie himself. Not only does he have an incredible depth of knowledge but he is, hands down, one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. Not only interesting but interested (in you!), the tour had such a conversational flow that in many ways it was like hanging out with an old friend.
Cannot recommend highly enough!
