The antenatal care I have received throughout my pregnancy has been excellent.
Took the wife here to have 3 stitches removed in the Urgent Care department. Two and a half hours later, they were romeved in a 60 second procedure.
The reason we had to go to the Urgent Care department wa that an appointment at the doctors would have meant a two week wait when they had to come out in three days. Our surgery has a three week waiting least, which is the norm, sadly.
The Urgent Care unit appears to run a triage system, people came in, self-registered on wall mounted computers and waited. My wife never saw a triage nurse and no one gave any idea of how long we would have to wait. Unlike other hospitals/departments there is no indication given via screens.
When, after an hour and a half, I had the temerity to ask how long we had to wait. I was brusquely told that I had only waited an hour and a half and it may be another 30-45 minutes. The individual would not meet my eyes and was in fact unnecessarily rude.
I think the system needs reviewing.
Having said that, other departments that I have been involved with hav3 always been polite and helpful.

I had foot surgery today under general anaesthetic. Superb care from everyone - nurses, surgeon, anaesthetist. You are all WONDERFUL and made something I was incredibly nervous about a pleasant experience. Best hospital I've been to in London. Thanks for all you do. Long live the NHS!
