Great place
Awesome views
Lovely open space; nice local facility. To be enjoyed by all.
A great reserve, dominated by scrub and long grassland. The viewpoint looking south towards London is phenomenal on a clear day or at night, where the capital's skyline stands out. Wildlife to see includes birds such as kestrel, bullfinch, linnet, reed bunting, mistle thrush. A pond supports amphibians, dragonflies and swallows in summer. Great for exploring the wildflower meadows in warmer months! Car parking is free but note the time it closes on signs at the entrance (off Wood Lane).
Situated on former farmland and merging onto Stanmore Country Park. A distinct prominence comprising sloping controlled meadows and a small pond facilitating and encouraging a variety of insect/bird/small mammals in varied habitats.
Maintained to a high standard (volunteers?)
The large flower meadow is particularly noteworthy. The panoramic views southwards over the 'London Bowl' are unequaled in N.London.
Bracing and beautiful here throughout the year and recommended without reservation.*
* Can become slippery, soggy and muddy terrain
