“As a retired pharmacist, I understand your frustration. I used to get frustrated too. The pharmacy is always a skeleton crew. When you have a person at a drive through, that means that two techs are on cash registers and neither is helping you. By law, one pharmacist can only have two techs, three if one is certified. Most pharmacists hate the drive thru. It means you're not getting any help at all. Even if you have a dedicated cashier, that tech at the drive thru is your tech help. That means they're not answering the phone and not helping you fill prescriptions. My mentor told me that it was better to be slow and take your time filling a prescription than be wrong. The best times to call are about 11am, 3pm or anytime after 7pm. Never call before 11am. You should expect at least a two hour wait time after calling in your prescription, no matter what that computer tells you. If you can wait until the next day, that is awesome. It means your prescription can be filled at an off peak time. If you use the chat function, rather than call, you'll get an immediately response.”
