Wind Creek State Park Campground

We love Wind Creek State Park! Had a relaxing time and met some very nice campers who were enjoying the beautiful weather.

Had a great off season stay here. Sites are close together and there are a LOT of sites. Empty all around our water front site mid-week late fall. Restrooms very clean and well maintained. Picnic tables weathered, glad we brought a tablecloth. Water very low. We were able to launch our kayaks from near our site. Great part of Lake Martin for paddling as narrower with coves.

My wife, brother-n-lay and his wife spent a week in one of the camping cabins. It had 2 bed rooms and a full bath. The kitchenette had a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and a small refrigerator. But no stove to cook on. We brought a crock pot and made due. We also drove into Alexander and ate out a few times. (15 minutes) There's a Walmart and plenty of eating places.
Our cabin was right on the water. It had a very nice long dock to tie my boat up on. We fished as much as possible. Weather didn't cooperate. It got windy and COLD! Fishing wasn't good. Not many fish. There is a good fish cleaning station.
All in all it was still a good time.

We loved being on the lake and how expansive the campground is. There is a lot to do and it was an enjoyable experience for us. However, the spots are so close together, you have zero privacy. Our fire pit was missing. No hot water in shower houses two nights in a row. Went earlier the 3rd night and got hot water. We will return, but will reserve a bigger site! Zip lining was amazing and fairly priced! Must do the trails and mountaintop nearby!
