“I GREW UP CLOSE TO THE SCHOOL AND ALWAYS DREAMED OF PLAYING FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL WHEN I WAS OLD ENOUGH. I PRACTICED THROWING A FOOTBALL ON THE VIKING FIELD WHEN THE COACH WASN'T AROUND, CAUSE HE WOULD HAVE RUN ME OFF. ALSO MANAGED TO PLAY GAMES WITH FRIENDS OCCASIONALLY, WITHOUT PADS AND WE WOULD PLAY TACKLE! I WAS LUCKY , GREW OLDER , PLAYED QUARTERBACK AND WAS CAPTAIN. SAME THING HAPPENED FOR BASKETBALL, ALSO CAPTAIN. MY TEACHERS WERE GREAT AND ADMINISTRATION WAS OUTSTANDING! MY LUCK CONTINUED AND AFTER MY MASTERS AT UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA, I BECAME ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF WALKER COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL AND WORKED WITH MANY OF MY FORMER GREAT TEACHERS AND COACHES, ESPECIALLY THE FOOTBALL COACH WHO NEVER RAN ME OFF THE FIELD.
