After searching for months I finally found the perfect store. We love to travel and my cheap Walmart bag broke on my last trip. I decided to upgrade and spent many hours online to no avail. I then made my hubby take me to every mall shop that had bags. It was frustrating to say the least.
That was until we found Travel Outfitters! Jack and Gaile found my perfect bag! Thank you so much for listening and finding something that suits my many needs. I will be back with my fellow travelers soon!!
I’ve purchased items here multiple times. I like the selection and the staff is very helpful.
UPDATE:
After I posted my negative experience with Travel Outfitters, the Owner called to apologize. Later, I met her at the Scottsdale Quarter store. I found her and the entire store's staff to be caring and customer oriented. I have since made additional purchases at that location.
_______________
I went to Travel Outfitters at Chandler Fashion Center to purchase a wallet.
After the transaction, one of the sales people mentioned that Briggs & Riley was having a holiday sale with $50 off every $350 spent. After an hour of looking at different luggage combinations, with various discount calculations provided by two helpful employees (Earl and Jack), I purchased five pieces of luggage with a total discount of $350.
The following morning, I received a call from the Store Manager. After thanking me for my purchase the previous day, she said that her employees had not calculated the discount correctly and that she needed to collect an additional $100. When I questioned her, she said that the Briggs & Riley discount was $50 per item, not $50 per $350 spent, and that for five pieces of luggage, I should have received a $250 discount, not the $350 calculated by her employees.
I explained the wording on the printed signs, all of which stated $50 off every $350 spent. She said that was incorrect and reiterated that the sale was $50 off each piece of luggage.
I told her that I would return all of the luggage rather than paying another $100. She said that she did not want the luggage back and that she may have misunderstood how to calculate the discount. She said that she would take another look at the transaction and call me back. That call never came.
Later in the day, I drove to Chandler javascript:void(0)Fashion Center and walked into the Travel Outfitters store to look at the Briggs & Riley signs. The wording was "$50 off every $350 spent."
Upon further reflection, I realized that no Store Manager could not be that ignorant of the Briggs & Riley sale terms and that she had attempted to force me to pay an additional $100 for a completed transaction.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Travel Outfitters.
Found a backpack I've been lookin for in stock. Owner was very nice lady. Locally owned so I'm glad I found that out talking with her and am happy to be able to buy from hometown store.
