Our family discovered the magic of Centerstage last summer, & haven’t looked back since! From the professionalism of the plays they out on, to the care their instructors take in understanding each of the students, everything is top notch. Our children have learned valuable skills, met lifelong friends, & most importantly, graced stages & delivered performances they never thought imaginable. I highly recommend enrolling any youth who is interested in theatre, music a/o being the absolute best version of themself as possible! Kudos abound to the phenomenal folks at Centerstage Academy!!
My 9-year-old got the theater bug with Centerstage Academy at age 5 at a princesses and super heroes summer camp, then enrollment in the StarLites class. Every single instructor she had treated her like a star and boosted her confidence. I have Centerstage to thank for her larger-than-life love and endless passion for performing. Professionally, the instructors go above and beyond to nurture the students. Specifically, in the Musical Theater and Technical Production (MTTP) class, their skill and quality of instruction is priceless, and ultimately culminates in breathtaking performances at the end of the class term. I would describe the energy of my daughter and her classmates as magical and electric. In my opinion, the magic comes from the students being able to express themselves as artists in a nurturing and celebratory atmosphere.
I can not express enough how grateful I am for Centerstage and amazed at what they’ve provided for my daughter. She’s absolutely not a sports girl and loves all things theater so when the stars aligned and we were able to get her into Centerstage, she was very excited to say the least. Her experience in Willy Wonka, The Aristocats, Frosty Follies, Annie, Mary Poppins, and Frozen Jr. has created memories that will last a life time. We would absolutely be a part of Centerstage for as long as we could if we weren’t moving!!!
The staff running the show are professionals, they’re passionate about what they do and creating an amazing environment for the kids!!!
Since 2010 (wow), Centerstage has been an absolute wellspring of nurturing encouragement, challenge, and *fun* in my daughter's life! She's always felt a sense of belonging here that truly brings out her best and helps to stretch her limits safely, in group theater classes and private voice lessons alike. From her preschool days of simply loving costumes, to so many performances in the community and on stage (in so many amazing costumes!), to backstage helping, summer camp volunteering, and now her first job as a teacher--what a journey! =D Every chapter has been golden, and as a family we have much gratitude to Centerstage and countless priceless memories!
I have nothing but positive things to say about the quality of the development that goes into each and every student that signs up. My eldest son has taken vocal lessons since he was ten years old and theater about a year later. Not only did Centerstage teach my son music, develop his gift of singing and acting but would find service opportunities to perform and give back to the community. My son is now in college studying pre-med and has already been complimented on his presentation skills. My youngest son is in high school and has done some acting when he was much younger but found a desire for the tech and is now being mentored for sound crew. What they learn preparing for performances hones their memorization, confidence, engaging an audience, collaboration, work ethic and creativity. These are skills that will follow them wherever their life takes them in the future.
