This museum is way better than what I expected! Coming in, it looked small, but there as a lot to see; spent a little over an hour here.. The docent was kind to give a tour. We started with some exhibits on the outside, and then there's a 7 minute movie. From there, we winded our way through the different exhibits that represent the "river of time" and how Fountain Hills/ Arizona came to be what it is now. The exhibits were well placed and aesthetically pleasing. I enjoyed how they were interactive as well.
We had a great time! The docent gave a great tour. We learned about the settlement of the area and the growth of the local tribes.
We used tickets from the Culture Pass program at the local museum to cover tickets for two people.
Newly renovated during COVID... very well done introduction video, knowledgeable group guide ... Informative local historical content included. Cute gift shop too ... 'found unique jewelry and clothing there.
OK this place is closed however there's lots of art to look at in the area outside of the museum. My wife and I walked around and had a great time taking pictures next to them and trying to guess what the title of the sculptures were without actually looking at the titles. So far I have one point and she has 3 points in case you were curious!?
Our point system is very complex I am not even going to go into that. However if you are curious about how to give points for this sort of a game I could give you some tips i am very good at making up scoring systems for odd games like this good luck.
Unfortunately, the museum was closed while I was in the area so I did not get to see the inside. However, it was the outside that drew me in the 1st place. The sculptures placed all around the grounds outside are amazing and worth a visit all by themselves. There's also a small community garden. It's free to walk around and check everything out. Plan to spend at least an hour, especially if you like to read about the artists.
