“I had surgery here last month, and it was the first time that I've had surgery. I was incredibly anxious about undergoing general anesthesia, especially after a very nasty experience with IV sedation for wisdom teeth extraction. Everyone on my care team from Luisa at check in, Damien and Robyn for my pre-op team, and most particularly my anesthesiologist Dr. Strock went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and assured. They explained everything they were doing and why. Dr. Strock had one of the best bedside manners I have ever encountered and knew exactly how to calm my nerves, and he even spent a good amount of time just talking with me as a person rather than just the next case to get through. My surgery itself was done with no complications by Dr. Marini (with Arizona Advanced Surgery), who made sure to answer any last questions, see how I was doing before it all got started, and he spoke with my husband once I was out in recovery. Thanks to the cocktail of medicines, my memories of my OR nurse Lindsey and my post-op nurses Jo and Denise are...hazy...but I do recall feeling comfortable and that they were just as warm and assuring as the rest of the team. In summary: if I ever need to have surgery again, I absolutely would return here.”
