“My Son is in Honors and AP program as a Sophomore. His Teachers this and last year are very professional and awesome people to interact with. There was a variety of concerns with different natures during my Son's freshman year but the Staff and Teachers always did the best thing possible in each scenario. I also appreciate the commitment the activities Sponsors have. Maybe there are better schools but also keep in mind that if your child is willing to stay competitive, the honors program will really keep him/her busy (Have your child persuade that environment). In addition, add an activity/sport to the child's schedule and you will see how important is to support your kid due to the workload while watching the Student's School/Life/Balance. I am very happy with the way the school communicates. My Son's counselor is very approachable as well. I wish the schools were given more budget. They do great with what they have but if more money would come their way, more improvements and support to education and activities could materialize. Discipline is also a big focus at Independence. Maybe it is hard to handle some of the trouble students but the school always do their best to keep those cases in check. I think that instead of some people thinking this is not a good school, I would point the same sentence but into the opposite direction. "What can I do to help my Student to become more successful? Shall I donate more money to the activities of interest? How about volunteering more as a Parent to support activities? Am I willing to follow up more often in what my child is doing at school?"”

“My kids have been at K.E.Y.S. For the past six years, and we love everything about it! The instructors are knowledgeable, caring and attentive. The Student Body is full of incredible young people! This makes homeschooling through Jr. High and High School so much easier on me, and my kids feel like they have the best of both worlds, homeschooling and regular school! “Good school, with friendly and welcoming teachers. Very well maintained, and walls are re-painted every 1-3 years. However, it has some restrictions many students would likely not be well with. And, the school's staff department is dwindling badly, as the past two years 8 teachers left the school, and its likely going to take a while for the school to recover from a loss of staff, plus another 2 leaving next year.”

“I was one of the students that went to the school and my overall experience was it was a good school. Small, fun, and easy to learn at. I went through kindergarten to 6th grade those years were great. Until 6th grade it started falling apart because our principal, Ms. Smailagic, at that time moved up and ranking and then we had new principals. But then those principles would leave because it was not the right school for them and then new new principals new principals and then the school just never felt the same again. It is a great school all it has to do is increase in population and it will be back on its feet. It is really up to you, if you want to make this school great again.”

“When the opportunity arose to enroll my daughter in Bayer Private School, my husband and I jumped at the chance. We are so happy we did! Bayer has exceeded our expectations in every way. My daughter is learning in a loving, safe, well-rounded and academically accelerated environment. Children learn daily Spanish and PE, music, art, technology and instrument training; all while focusing on strong character education and accelerated academics. “I attended this school grades 1-6 and had a generally positive experience. Seeing that it was 6 years ago, nostalgia definitely factors into this, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. As a young student, Las Brisas was always a safe place for me. The school’s layout made it easy to navigate and get around. The teachers I had were all different, as all teachers are, but they were all unique in a good way. One critique I have is some were strict in the name of “next year is going to be so much harder, so behave now”, but I think that’s just a general tactic to get kids to work. The different styles of teaching I was first introduced to at Las Brisas were very helpful down the road, and I knew how to handle different teachers in middle and high school. I’m very glad I went to school at the time I did, because it is drastically different these days. Most of us had no phones, so I really had the sense of being a child. If you wanted to tell your friend something, you had to wait until the next day. Without the distraction of technology at our fingertips, we were more creative, we played football, basketball, wall ball, soccer, etc. at recess, and it was always a great time. It felt like the teachers encouraged me to be myself, and I was happy. I got involved in band and loved it. It seemed like I was a part of something bigger, which is something I desperately missed in middle and high school. I have so many memories from this school, and I absolutely would recommend it to anyone.”

“LOVE THE NEW OWNERSHIP! The new owners are wonderful and have made a great facility, better. They are business oriented and have improved the facility immensely. The staff is much happier and it shows. Not only is it a family business with a national educational program that is used, the owners have strong backgrounds in education and business. A great combination. The teachers are kind and caring. They truly love your children and care for them. Ms Billie Jo, Ms Sharon, and Ms Amber are some of the best teachers we've ever encountered. Ms Shirley runs the front smoothly and knows every kid by first name. We couldn't recommend them enough. Don't let the old negative reviews about past leadership sway you now. Call and talk to Rachel or Mike (owners) and you'll see how great they are. We're really happy with the changes they've made. We've been at this preschool for over 8 years and dealt with both owners. After interviewing 7 others, we picked Kiddie Academy and would do it again, especially now.”

“Very warm and welcoming. There are two pastors, both very knowledgeable in the Bible. Their summons are based on the Bible, with personal experiences of faith. Atonement Lutheran is member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS). They have two services on Sunday, 8:00am and 10:30am with coffee and Sunday School/Bible study for both children and adults between services. I would highly recommend Atonement Lutheran church for anyone either visiting the area or looking for a home church.”
