Awesome view, tough to get there. Must have 4x4 to make it .
Worth the drive at least once to do. Road is a little rough but still managed it in my Camry lol
Great hike. Definitely takes some effort, especially near the top, but worth it. Recommend bringing pliers if you plan on hiking with a dog, as there are a fair number of chollas near the beginning. Made it back to the trailhead fine with a Subaru Forester. I think you could probably make it in a sedan with decent clearance if your really need to, although it may be close and you'd have to be careful in a few spots.
One of the best hikes in the valley, also difficult
Finally made it to the summit of Quartz Peak. It was a tough hike that I started at 0330 in full moonlight. The path is well maintained but still rough. Lots of water and walking stick(s) are a must. Heavy duty boots as well. I wore some Merlin hiking shoes and by the time I was back down it felt like I was walking on gravel in my bare feet.
Great hike tho. The drive out can be tricky. Don't rely too heavily on Google maps for directions cause it can take you down some very rough roads.
