I started my flight training January 2020 with the University of North Dakota. UND is a very exceptional school.
I am not an employee but a former student.
You will not find a school in Arizona with better instructors and better airplanes. There have been several occasions where instructors or faculty have gone above and beyond to make accommodations or make things easier for a student, I will always be grateful for the time I have spent at UND & I would happily recommend it to anyone looking to get flight certifications.

If you have any questions about UND find Rex and he will happily help you get on the right track.

UND Aerospace Foundation is a great place to get your flight certificates. I finished the private pilot course in August 2022. All my experiences with the instructors and examiners were professional and fair. Specifically, my ground school instructor for PP, Josh and my flight instructor, Austin, are both great teachers & truly cared about teaching the information thoroughly and in an easy to understand manor.

My only complaint is it took a few months longer than planned to complete PP the course. I believe this was due to UND overbooking the summer classes with the JROTC fast-track students that come during the summer. The best, and only times to fly during the peak of summer is early mornings due to cooler temps & denser, less turbulent air. UND gave the new JROTC students got priority scheduling slots during these times over the other students that where there well before them. And since there were so many of them, they took up nearly all the aircraft which made is very hard to find times & aircraft available before the air became turbulent and temps reached +105F. I hope UND has realized their mistake and will work to prevent this from happening in the future. I'm now in the Instrument Rating course and scheduling has been a lot better.

Overall, UND Aerospace Foundation is a great flight school with modern, well maintained aircraft and quality instructors. I can say w/ confidence that you'll be well prepared for a career in aviation at UND Aerospace Foundation.

UND Aerospace is hands down the best flight school in Arizona, let alone the entire nation. I attended this program while on a scholarship through the Air Force Officer Training Corps and UND made a lifelong dream of earning my PPL become true in just under two months. Although my time with UND was short, the knowledge and experience I obtained when I left will forever be beneficial to my aviation journey. I could not have asked for a better foundation to build upon that this flight school provided me. Of course I had my ups and downs, but that is just life; but UND and your flight instructor does not want you to fail and they proved that again and again with me. If you are looking into getting a PPL or perhaps a career in aviation, this is hands sown the place to go!

Enjoying my flight training experience at UND Aerospace Phoenix. I've earned my commercial, instrument and multi-engine certificate/ratings here and am currently enrolled in CFI training. Without a doubt, UND offers professional instructors, exceptional staff, and a fleet of newer Piper aircraft (Archers and Seminoles) that are meticulously cared for. Additionally, UND maintains a robust Safety Management System rivals any airline out there. This school has accomplished what I needed. It prepared me to be a safe pilot, an effective instructor, and a future airline pilot.

UND Aerospace at Phoenix Mesa Gateway airport is much more than a flight school. This flight training organization has a fleet of near-new G1000-equipped Piper Archers for primary and instrument training. The atmosphere is professional, yet friendly and welcoming. A great place to learn to fly, especially for the career-minded aviation professional.
