I took my son here and it was so much fun! There is a great collection of hot wheels to choose from and you can race on the track as many times as you want. My son is obsessed with hot wheels so this was a fun way to spend some time with him and get him a few new cars. Would definitely recommend!
For our sister who passed he did a great job!
Fun shop. Had fun with my kid here. Just buy a Hot Wheels car for $3-4 and spend a while playing with the track. Shop isn't the nicest one you have seen, but it has a neat 90s vibe and the employees seem friendly.
Excellent store, has really cool tracks for kids and adults to play with along with a bunch of cars priced very fairly
I've taken my son here for a few years and have fun every time. Here are some things you may want to know.
The store sells hot wheels primarily with an occasional Matchbox or Johnny Lightning. These are unopened packs hanging on pegs but are organized generally by region of manufacturer (European, Asian, etc) so it doesn't feel like digging through ***mart crowded pegs and bins. Wall displayed average cars will be $2 with a special $1 clearly marked set of cubbies intended for kids to use on the track.
Where box stores only offer the current production line of cars, a little store like this will have previous years' models. This increases variety if you are a collector or just wanting 1-2 specific cars.
Owner is very open to things like opening a tab where kids can race for a while, open another car and race longer, just ask and typically save each opened "card" or paper back on the counter for later ring up.
Behind the counter and in the glass displays are premium cars and various customized cars for sale. Priced lower than I might have thought when first discovering diecast car modifying and painting, $5 and up with an average under $10 but that obviously depends on his inventory at the time.
We like to visit Saturday mornings while the die-cast trader show is being held immediately infront of this store by the elevators. This time has more foot traffic and gives my son more kids to race against. Outside cars may be brought in and quite a few parents like myself have "their cars" tucked away for an opportunity to take on a winning car.
One thing to mention negative (but is obviously necessary) is most kids won't be able to reach the starting gates as there is no stool or ladder. I left tired from lifting my 3 year old over, and over, and over (and over, and over... lol) until we worked out that he could pick his lanes and I would be the official Placer and Starter.
