Desert Botanical Garden

Great place to explore the various varieties of cactus. Lots of birds, lizards and bunnies!

Such a great experience! Especially at the moment at night with the light show they have on. The guided tour was fascinating, and really helped to understand the flora of the area. Loved seeing it at day and night.

Amazing place. So many varieties of desert plants. The place is maintained very well. There are shady spots to sit and relax with water features. Along the paths, you will find descriptions of some of the more unique plant varieties and other interesting trivia. It's geared for short visits and long visits. There are free docent lead tours and interesting things for children and adults throughout. It's not cheap for a one time visit, but their yearly membership has a lot of benefits and perks. Two visits equal the approx cost of a year membership. I recommend the place and I suggest a hat, loose clothing and a full water bottle. =]

What a fabulous place! The butterfly exhibit is there now and the electric desert is great! Both a must see. It's worth it to become a member especially if you have out of town guests. We did the Cholla Club membership which gives me and my husband free admission except to special events, 4 guest passes a year and a motorized wheelchair for my dad when he comes on town or for anyone anytime we go there. Can't beat that and we're supporting an amazing habitat.

Beautiful place if you like vegetation and cacti. Take the electric desert tour if you can as it is quite the light show in the desert. Since I was there in January it was a bit cool in the evening. There's lots of walking and trails. You can hike out into an area as well and up into hole in the wall rock to get a view of Phoenix. I did not do this hike but next time I would. Is a small gift shop and a restaurant on site. Great place for plant lovers and scenic walks. Relaxing.
