Butterflies... Butterflies everywhere... Also chicken? Loved it! Get a camera and try and snap a few pics and you've got yourself a great day! You might even be lucky enough to to get a butterfly to land on you!
Second time I have taken my teenage grand daughter who visited me from California. She requested we go again. This is so relaxing - so many exotic beautiful butterfly's to see in this exhibit. On your exiting from the exhibit there is two areas to explore making this all worth your $$
Really beautiful to see..just prepare for the climate. Pretty warm and humid, tropical environment in the sanctuary. Very friendly staff. Short 3d film on monarch butterflies is interesting for all ages. Face mask is required..so again..be prepared for the tropical environment. The multi entertainment ticket is your best bet, a little pricey for just the butterfly exhibit especially due to the fact that you really cannot stay in there for too long due to the heat. There is a small aquatic and reptile walk through exhibit included. Fun day!!
We had a nice visit! Mostly fun for the kids but also very chill for adults. The short 3D movie about butterfly migration was nice and educational. Also remember not to touch the real butterflies! My first instinct was to reach out to them since they are so pretty but I caught myself. They also had a mini aquarium/reptile exhibit that you can walk through after the butterfly area. Highly recommended to stop by if you're in the area.
We were in a time crunch to get my dad in a facility that could handle his needs. Lighthouse was responsive, and so helpful during such a stressful time. I love that one of the owners has a medical background and could read my dads charts to assess what he would need so quickly. My dad was in the Irwin home, a beautiful setting, with a large yard and back deck. The rooms were good sized, and my dad shared a room (room sizes vary though). The residences are allowed to roam the home and not feel confined. The staff was good at communicating his needs and let us get medical attention he needed. I could add so many positive things they did during the pandemic, but I don't want it to be too lengthy. My Stepmom is in another large facility up north near her daughter. I wish she was getting the same care my dad got at Lighthouse. When my dad was in the hospital, put on hospice, Lighthouse didn't have to take him back. But Lighthouse did take him back, and worked really hard keeping him comfortable in his last days.
