I can’t say enough to do The Craftsman justice. The food, drinks, and staff are all amazing. Do not sleep on those appetizers - the lollipop chicken legs are to die for. And this spot may have the best old fashioned in town. North Scottsdale is very lucky to have this option. Even among the great alternatives, it’s a stand-out.
Keep this in mind:
There’s indoor and outdoor seating.
The bar top area is side-by-side seating
TVs are placed throughout
Open hours are not standard; check ahead
Love this place! Slaw was my favorite, chunks of blue cheese. Braden had some great recommendations. Chicken lollipops, and grilled cheese with Prosciutto and fig jam, sweet and savory.
I WOULD RECOMMEND.
The volcano pork is one of the most delicious meals I've had in a long time. It's huge, but I didn't want to share. The Craftsman is one of those places I always want to go back to. The food, atmosphere, cocktails are incredible.
Hubby and I went here for New Years Eve dinner. We were looking for something yummy. We have been here a handful of times and the food is always good and the service is always great! There wasn't much decorating for the holiday, but the place was buzzing! Our server, Autumn, was friendly and super helpful. She is an asset to the restaurant! She even engaged in a chat about the bottles of distilled spirits they sell there. I NEVER knew they had their own labeled bottles of spirits that you could buy. Amber was telling us about the bottles she purchased to make her favorite espresso martini's, which got our own creative mixology minds thinking. How fun would it be to attend a martini making class there using their own spirits?!?! Definitely something to market!
Hubby had the muffuletta, which is his "go-to" there. It's always piled high and fresh and yummy! The best sammich in the valley we think! I had the arctic char that was cooked perfectly with arugula and potatoes covered in a lemon vinaigrette. It was bright tasting and perfect! We had the king crab ceviche to start which was light and well balanced and tasty! For dessert we shared a bourbon pudding adorned with candied bacon. YUM! It was rich but if you split it, its the perfect ending. The cocktails are yummy with generous pours.
The atmosphere is soothing and refined with fun areas to congregate in. There are big tv's in the bar area that we were able to catch the bowl games on and thrilled about that. We look forward to many more dinners and cocktails here. The manager is great at scouting talent to work there, so you are guaranteed to have a great experience! I hope they do more marketing so more people will get to know them better!
