“Enjoyed a beautiful day at the park with the kids today. Good little playground, basketball court and nice open field for the boys to throw the football around.”

“Great hikes and you can always add others trails to make longer hikes if you want. Parking lot is small but they do have an overflow parking lt so that does help out too.”

“This is one of the best interpretive nature trails in the Phoenix/Scottsdale AZ. This one is very clean and well-paved with a concrete 0.5 mile loop. The loop is also accessible and it looks very aesthetically pleasing too. You can take your time browsing through each of the signs to learn new things, and there are pictures as well for the visual learners. Additionally, at each of the signs- they list out exercises and stretches that you can do while reading the sign. Learning and exercising: win-win!”

“Lost Dog Wash is great - try some of the other trails to get away from the crowds. The best trailhead building in the Valley designed by Black Rock Studio.”

“Great place for a start. 5.3 to 5.10 climbs and lots in the 5.7 range. Several routes near each other.”

“Very clean. Cute little toddler playground and even better big kid area. I went on a Tues around 11am and no one was there. Both little playgrounds are shaded! Bathrooms, parking close to park, basketball courts and large picnic area that's shaded. Beautiful landscaping and clean.”

“Always a great hike at this location. You can find a moderate hike to Tom's Thumb, easy family hikes or very long trail runs through the mountain. One of the few places on McDowell Mtn that my 4-year old son loves. Wish they had running water at this location, but not a big deal.”

“The parking lot is middle-sized, but the greatest part about it, is that you can come to park here before sunrise and then get your hike started early. This is especially helpful in the summer when you want to beat the heat. It's not a gated lot, so you can come and go as you please. It connects with the Levee trail (? forgot the name) which is not a very impressive trail. It's very flat, but once you walk for about a few minutes, you do reach the Gateway trail which then connects with other trails. Much more scenic along those trails...”

“Great place for a family walk! Lots of Beautiful Deseret Cactus and Shrubs to See and Enjoy. Bring your camera, because it's some of the best Desert Scenery in the Scottsdale area. There are several short trails to choose from (for a mile to three walk) if you have little children, or you can go for a more adventurous 8 mile hike around the park. Go to the trail head Pavillion for directions, or a FREE Trail Map. For your convenience - they have clean restrooms and drinking fountains where you can fill up your water bottles and apply your sunscreen.”

“Great spot to hike, bike, or just immerse yourself in the Arizona landscape. There is the convenience of ample parking, clean restrooms, and no fees. Trails vary in length and most are dirt once you stray from the visitor center. Trail maps were easy to navigate, as were the trails, making this a great spot for family or casual hikes. It is a vast, quiet area for those looking to add distance. Highly recommend visiting. Check the website for organized group events.”

“The Gateway Trail is a very easy hike (really a walk) that just about anyone can do. It's very flat and you will see people of all ages walking on this trail. We used this trail to get to other trails in the area, so we didn't do the complete Gateway Trail loop. The entire area is quite new and very nice. There are some trails where you end up in a neighborhood (a very nice one), which we didn't really love. The entire area is worth exploring as there are really a ton of different trails for all different types of skills. Great parking lot, tons of spots and new, clean bathrooms and facilities. This is a great place to enjoy the desert.”

“Great hiking options from here. I had 3 little kids (all 5 and under), so we just did the easy 1/2 mile loop, but it was great. The path is stroller friendly, and the sights are varied enough to keep kids interested/excited the whole time. The info panels throughout the loop are great as well. Plus, there was a guide at the trailhead that was extremely knowledgeable. Plenty of free parking.”

“Beautiful complex. Been here twice. It's always clean and organized for soccer. Fields 1-6 are on one side of the street (I believe south) and the rest or on north side. Bathrooms on both sides and large signs that show field numbers. (Especially if my sense of direction is off).”

“We're here almost weekly for a meet-up and always have so much fun. Honestly my boys (4.5 and 6 y.o.)aren't huge fans of the playground, but they have spent up to 3-4 hours exploring around the perimeter, riding bike on the basketball court and honestly just using their imagination. It's a dream to be able to just sit at a table and watch them play endlessly. The only down fall is that it's kind of a hike up to the bathrooms, but we're just thankful there is one!”
