10/10 gave me back my life. Came in an absolute wreck and left so happy and at peace. My whole life changed before my eyes. Neurofeedback works, and whoever says it doesn’t just wants to keep depressed people depressed on pills. Note: I did neurofeedback and a lot of other therapies as well, detoxed heavy metals, changed the way I ate (cut out all sugar), sat in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber every day for an hour that I bought for my home. Just wanted to say that neurofeedback is super powerful but it is ONE piece of the puzzle to cure mental illness, which almost always has a deeper solvable physical cause. Don’t hesitate and just go.

Neurofeedback has been amazing for me. For the past about 15 years, I have been diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (in the form of being very germophobic), Major Depression and Social Anxiety. About a year ago, I made an appointment with the ADD Clinic/Scottsdale Nerofeedback Institute. At this time, it was the middle of the Corona pandemic and the mask mandate had already been issued. Because of my OCD, I was unable to get myself to wear a mask when in public. I will forever be grateful to the clinic for allowing me to come into the building and be treated without wearing a mask (while making the first appointment, my mom had asked if it was possible for me to come to the appointments without wearing a mask because of my severe OCD).

Thanks to the director, Dr. Gurnee, my unknown Attention Deficit Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder and my math handicap were brought to light as well as my not-so-fine motor skills. These were all problems that I had been facing for years (some for most of my life) that had never been diagnosed and/or treated before. During the appointment where Dr. Gurnee went over my test results (the mind mapping, the ADD evaluations and math skills test among others) he explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. One of my favorite parts was when he said that when the mind-mapping started my “brain lit up like a Christmas tree” (which, by the way is extremely bad).

The next week I was able to start the actual sessions to work on my brain. Because I lived in Mesa, I was allowed do 2 sessions back-to-back each time I went in. My technician, Kathy, was so amazing. Because we had to drive a ways, my mom and I were always invariably early to the point that it became a known thing and Kathy would be waiting for us with the room already ready. On top of that, Kathy would make sure that my appointments were in the bigger rooms (since my mom always went in with me because of my severe anxiety). When more appointments needed to be made, an appointment cancelled or moved, it was Kathy who did it for us. The receptionist Rachael was a sweetheart who always kept us up to date on how much money was left in the package we had purchased in the beginning. Each time we went for the sessions, Rachael let my mom take my temperature (I had requested that my mom do it since Rachael was short and behind a counter, and I am tall). Everyone who worked at the ADD Clinic/Scottsdale Neurofeedback Institute was always nice, polite and helpful. When my mom or I had any questions or concerns, they would answer as best as they could or find another who could answer our questions. Now that I have finished the sessions, I am wearing a mask every time I go somewhere in public (still don’t like it), my social anxiety is gone (been ordering my own food at restaurants for the first time), my math handicap is no longer an issue and my ADD is gone. I can actually read a book while someone is talking (before then, it had to be completely silent). I am no longer on medications for my Major Depression and my mind is regulating my moods without any problems. My OCD is also much better. Neurofeedback is one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life. Now my younger sister is going through neurofeedback at the same place and she is also seeing improvements in her own problems. For those of us looking for a miracle, neurofeedback comes close!

I love this place, the people are so kind and caring and neurofeedback has changed my life. After a concussion I could hardly function and this was supposed to be my new normal. But Neurofeedback actually heals the brain and I can do things I never thought I'd be able to do again. It is totally worth the time and the money to have a chance to live a normal life.

I was skeptical of neurofeedback because I wasn’t familiar with it. I also really needed help and didn’t know if this was going to be a waste of time or not.
I completed about 3 months, going two times a week with two sessions a day. I saw results by the end of the 3 months, but it was nothing compared to the results I saw after. About a month after neurofeedback I noticed I no longer had the extreme issues I previously had. And after about 6 weeks I no longer struggle at all.
I know it sounds cheesy but I believe Scottsdale Neurofeedback totally changed my life. I’m so much happier now and I’m so happy I found this place.
