Really wonderful dining experience. Certainly not an every week thing, but with their prices and reservation wait times that’s pretty clear. The food is excellent with the interior and ambiance amazing. Shout out to our server Nathan who was great. The “bouncer” some reviews mention is a dude opening the door who just asks your reservation… pretty reasonable to keep the small interior clear of walk ins. It’s not The Norm but it’s certainly not unsettling. Overall a great night, Will definitely be back on special occasions.
The ambiance and the food were excellent. When our server, Bradley, actually approached our table, he was very helpful with recommendations. However, it is very surprising to me, especially because our table was directly in front of the kitchen doors, that it took him 40 minutes from the time we sat down to take our drink orders. I didn't realize so much time had passed, but my friend who used to be in the restaurant business made the observation. When it was time to pay for the meals, he dropped off the ticket, but never came back to collect our payments, so we ultimately found someone else passing by to run our cards for us. It was very dark in the restaurant, but I appreciate that there were lamps on the table so that we could at least see the menus. I will say that the bar back staff and the food runners were excellent. Our waters were never empty, (we would have ordered more drinks if Bradley had come to our table more often to do so), there were never empty dirty dishes on our table, and the other staff were great. It may have been that Bradley had been double or triple sat when we arrived, but we felt mostly neglected throughout the night by him.
The decor was stunning. I loved the attention to nature theme, the fire pits, and the light fixtures. The music was a little loud, but I'm guessing it is part of the ambiance. Overall, a lovely way to spend a Sunday evening
Toca Madera is a whole wonderful experience! The food is fabulous(try the prawns, very delicious), the drinks are amazing (drinks with fire coming out them). The ambiance is incredible, they have entertainment with a beautiful young lady showing her acrobatic skills dancing from the ceiling inside a metal sphere (very eloquently done). The inside has wall to wall fireplaces throughout giving it a very unique appearance. Reservations is a must even for the lounge area. We visited on a Tuesday evening and the place was packed. The butter cake for dessert is incredible, a must try!!!
Took my wife here for a date night. This place was really fancy, very high end. Reservations required. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was really impressive. Only downside was I think they are a little understaffed as we had a couple items not show up on time to the table, or not at all.
But our waiter was great and recognized this before we said anything and made sure we were happy. Really great customer service. Will definitely return.
Toca Madera is one of my favorite restaurants in the country. It is hard to think of a restaurant with great food, energy, while complemented by world class customer service. The manager Luke made our dining experience a special one. Came outside to greet us, frequently checked in, and left his information to my group for future reservations. Will go back every time I am back in Scottsdale. Highly recommend!
