“I give the whole center a solid 4 stars, mainly due to it being so far and how my last appointment was held back 40 minutes. It takes a little bit to get the hang of how things are run there, like needing to walk up to any glass with a person versus just one/two people acknowledging you. If its not your first time, you can use the machines to sign in, which is nice. The pharmacy and lab are completely separate so you need to sign in for those separately. As for the doctor, others are not wrong but I dont see his way as 'bad bedside manner'. He does push his book, but I was newly diagnosed T1, so it was very informative and barely cost me $5. He also got me to join JDRF and run their 5k in the spring, which was great! I got a ton of resources from them, pamphlets, and even a hand written note saying they understand and are there for me with whatever questions I may have. Its been a great transition for me thanks to both of them. He is computer heavy, especially at first, but I believe he does this so that he can be reminded of each patient since he sees so many people. Could it be better? Sure, but unlike other doctors he hasn't dismissed my symptoms and has always answered all my questions. My first/second visit alone was a solid hour each going through my lab work and making sure I understand how to manage diabetes, insulin, testing, ect. He kind of approaches thing from a hardass dad kind of way, like my own father, so maybe Im just use to the type of person but I like the no nonsense approach. I never feel stupid or lost when I leave and I truly believe he is very knowledgeable and cares. But doctors are like therapists, keep looking if he's not the one for you”
