Wonderful store with so many different things plus food!!!!
Stopped in while checking out the little town and was greated by a very nice young lady working behind the counter who had a great attitude and sense of humor. It was great visiting with her and seeing the little store.
We found this little store by chance, as on our way to Grand Canyon we wanted to see some little non-touristy places. This store is very cute, the lady at the counter is very friendly. Great local souvenirs!
Great convenient market. Stop for refreshments and inquired about the murals and if my vehicle could make it. Luckily the attendant working was able to assure me that I would be able to get there safely. She was very nice and I was grateful for her help. They also have a cool little miniature version of the towns buildings in front of shop. Will stop by again if ever in the area.
I've always been treated well here. All the basic foods for survival, plus candy, chips, snack cakes, soda, beer, smokes... Tchotchkes (Google it) for the tourists or locals who are into these things. Useful little gadgets, too. Accepts EBT and Debit cards. Many people would not survive without this market in Chloride (20+ miles from major grocery stores).
I've read reviews with complaints about the owner walking his dog.During these times he briefly closes the store. When he hasn't got "backup help" in the store, the dog needs to be walked. Period. Any dog owner can comprehend this.
Have read OTHER reviews stating "watch out for the dog. He (it) bites!" Generally speaking, it is not recommended to put your hands into the face or near the head of a dog that doesn't know or fully trust you. Allen usually warns people against touching or trying to pet this dog. Always ask before assuming an animal is universally friendly. : )
