Good place for quiet walks to enjoy the desert with an occasional cow. After a rain the desert smells amazing!
A beautiful area! Hope to visit again to get a better look around on the trials. Just passed through on the road up to Grand Canyon West.
its beautiful here! go first thing in the morning before the sun comes up so u dont catch the sun on u the whole time. saw rabbits, lizards, cows, and absolutely beautiful views!
We hiked mid April the 3.5 mile trailless route to the 7146 foot summit of Mt. Tipton from Lower Indian Spring. Knee high brush along some parts of route make sturdy long pants a requirement. Expansive views reward the hiker at the top. Environmental conditions were perfect, 60s to 70s F, clear, light to moderate breeze. We carried 3.5 L of water each. There is no water on the route which took us about 3 hours one way. Cell service (Verizon) was hit or miss along the route, but strong at the top. For hikers experienced in desert route finding and terrain recognition.
Such an interesting outing! Went looking for Antelope Springs. After trekking through a lot of dense brush and fighting off the attacking flies and mesquitos, we finally found the spring! It's beautiful.
Also came across a rattler on our way back down.
We had a blast!
If you go up there, be prepared to walk about 3/4 of a mile once you reach a metal county gate and BE SURE TO TAKE PLENTY OF WATER and BE VIGILANT ABOUT WATCHING FOR SNAKES!
Makes a great afternoon adventure, though!
