One of the first camps on Mt lemmon
Go after the rain or when the wash is flowing from the melting snow, follow the road to the back and you'll see part of the famous Arizona trail, spend a little time hiking the canyon and relax to the sound of the water flowing through the basin... Very zenfull, campers or tents. Spot 26 is fully wheel chair accessible for those who are limited in thier adventures, this area you can roll right into the camp on spot #26--good luck on your journey 😀

We love Molino and Gordon Hirabayashi. Hirabayashi has camping spots for two or three campers together, where Molino is only one camper (rv) per spot. Pit toilets, beautiful area for winter camping. Don't go down the mountain when it's storming, they usually close the road and don't allow people back up until the road has cleared.

Big Beautiful campground that’s no longer maintained. Grass over grown weeds high and more.
If you go during monsoon season you’ll be lucky to find the water flowing down the rocks onto the road. Nice place to make a few s’mores or cook a few hot dogs on one of the many grills. Just beware that the weeds are a lil high and grass to your ankles so go prepared.
Overall it’s a good place to get in touch with nature while getting away from the city.

This is a great campground and it’s only a short drive up Mount Lemmon. Actually pretty near the bottom just north of mile marker 4. Lots of camping spots a d fairly well spread out. They provide a table and grill area and most spots I saw. Fees for the night are very reasonable.
I went for a hike and I thought the trails were pretty poorly marked. You have to really look for the vertical rectangle “trail” signs and they are often pretty faded. The views were ok but nay as odd as many other hikes in Tucson.

Perfect spot for our end of March camping trip. We arrived on a Friday afternoon expecting it to be packed but there were plenty of spots (some remained empty). We had a lot of fun going on the easy hike with the kids (didn't do the whole thing) and had some deer get pretty close. I recommend this to everyone including first time campers. No running water but there are pit toilets (thus the 4 stars).
