  I consider myself lucky to have Gordon nearby and always willing to offer his services. I have brought countless basses to the shop and he has always given me an honest assessment. Sometimes they required work and other times he simply told me the instrument was fine. Gordon has worked on several of my basses, including my Alembics, Ken Smith, Modulus and Spector. Whether it was electronics, new frets or a custom request for neck profiling, the job was executed perfectly with a quick turnaround. As a working musician, having my bass returned in the agreed timeframe is extremely important and appreciated.
  In short, there is no other luthier I will trust with my instruments. The mutual respect I find working with Gordon is invaluable.

  One of the most experienced and talented Luthiers in the business. Expert repairs on any stringed instrument and his custom made instruments are out of this world; amazing craftsmanship, tone and playability.

  I have owned and played custom steel-string guitars since 1976. Last year Gordon built a custom mesquite and Adirondack 14 fret OM for me. I can unequivocally say that this Groves guitar continually provides endless hours of pure playing pleasure. The sound is exquisite, the fret board ease and respond naive. And when I’m not playing it the guitar provides almost an equal pleasure as a pure work of the finest luthiers art just to look at: an exceedingly satisfying investment on every level.

  I have been a customer of Groves Guitars for a good number of years. Gordon Groves, the owner and VERY skilled, talented luthier, has performed multiple repairs to my banjos and guitars over the years. His repairs are meticulously done with customer satisfaction and a good/correct repair as his two goals. I enjoy his skilled work so much, I purchased a Groves Telecaster guitar that he built for me.   Gordon is the consummate professional luthier. He has an amazing repair background. One of two luthiers to do the impossible neck reset.Not once but twice. His guitars look and sound amazing. His acoustics are still very reasonably priced . Get one while you can.

  Gordon Groves is hands down the most talented Luthier I have ever known. His level of skill, precision and detail are unmatched. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of guitar repair or a new custom.
