Zona 78

We have always liked Zona but haven't been here much since we moved farther from it. We went back on Friday night and service was very slow. Our waiter said two people called off so they were short handed. I was very happy with my food but our friends said theirs was cold. They sent it back. Zona was very busy. We will be back, despite that problem. My husband and I have restaurant experience so we know what is like to work in that environment.

I have eaten at Zona 78 several times and have always loved the food and service. My husband has been twice and doesn't feel the same. His opposition was the salad and pasta arriving at the table at the same time, outside, when the pasta is cold by the time one eats the salad. Not good. You might want to give customers time to eat the salad before bringing a hot dish.

Once upon a time there was a milkshake. It wasn't just any milkshake. It was a "loaded milkshake." From the fudge and Kix encrusted goblet to the actual freshly fried donut surrounding the straw, it defined gastric perfection. All of Tucson bathed in its insulin-dependent delight. And then, one day, it went away, never to return. As such, never again will I.

So we went here about 3 years ago for lunch, food was good but it's not close to where we live, south east... we went here tonight and have to say the meal was amazing. My husband is not very fond of Italian red sauce. Many options for red free zone. My meal , Eggplant was delicious. We are from Massachusetts with the North end and of course I'm Italian. Sauce is authentic. I felt like I was home. Leo the bartender was hard working and on top of it even though the restaurant was starting to hop. We will be back , we give it a 5 star for Tucson Italian.
