Bring your walking shoes because this museum is expansive. I could spend days here, so much history and knowledge all wrapped up in one area. Worth every dime for entrance fees. Didn't expect to be able to touch and get up close and personal with so many examples of Air superiority. Amazing, did I say that already?
This place is full of old planes and helicopter's it even has an old write brothers replica hanging up lots of different types of planes probably hundreds very cool place to go to spend a few hours as you walk around in total and complete awe there's even a couple of old nukes here along with decommissioned war planes/fighter jets and bomber's,
Radar and transport airships.lots of stuff in the gift shop and there's even a restaurant with Sonoran dogs amongst other things. I highly recommend coming out and visiting this place of flying wonder and history with family and friends the sooner you arrive the better to beat the larger crowds that start showing up around 1:00 - 3:00pm
This is a must-see in Tucson! They have great indoor exhibits with dozens of planes, helicopters, and other historical items. There is also a huge outdoor field with plenty of other planes to see.
You could spend most of a day here, there's something for everyone who has an interest in flight or the history of flight.
Bonus, they have pretty good french fries too.
One of the most wonderful museums I have visited. Easy to get to, great parking, handicapped accessable, and lots of great information. The aircraft are amazing and a huge variety of them! Make sure you bring a hat, suntan lotion, good walking shoes, and a camera. Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours there. Great for kids and they have a small playground for them. Lots of clean bathrooms. Next to the Air Force base so you can see the jets fly over!
FANTASTIC museum! The tour of the 'bone yard' is absolutely worth it though you cannot get off the bus and you have to submit your application at least two weeks in advance for security purposes. The amount of civilian and military aircraft is amazing. The museum has a collection of aircraft from all over the world and over the course of many years. We were unable to see the space museum as it was in the midst of altering displays but we will go back!
