(September 27, 2022, 2:45 pm)Ironwood Pig Sanctuary helped my sister find a home for a pig that she could no longer care for due to medical problems. I called to ask if I could donate some blankets for the pigs and the staff was very friendly and helpful. These are good people trying to help animals. I highly recommend Ironwood if you would like to donate old blankets or other items that they ask for through donations.
(November 9, 2019, 8:43 pm)We went out for their open house and were very very impressed with the whole set up. There is lots and lots of land so lots of space and different separated areas for the pigs. Most are very friendly but there are some that are aggressive so they're in separate pens. And separate areas for some of the older pigs or ones that need special care. And a wonderful caring staff.
(September 29, 2019, 12:32 pm)Best place to throw your support at. Hard working people help Potbelly pigs live the life they deserve. Coming from neglect,abuse, being abandoned or just plain not wanted anymore , here they find a place were they are well taken care of. It is a fine oiled Maschine, that manages over 600 pigs in all stages of life, health and character.
(July 2, 2018, 12:00 am)This Pig Sanctuary is Fabulous. I have been visiting here for 10 years. They run on 98% private donations. Every November they have an annual house. IT'S WONDERFUL!! It's one of the highlights of my year & I never miss it. It is the Sanctuary's largest fundraising event. They count on this event to get donations for the upcoming winter months. However- it's such a fun event as well!! They give a great tour of the Sanctuary's different areas of pigs, and you can get them and ask questions. They serve a delicious vegan lunch. And they have t-shirts, and all kinds or really unique items you can purchase for donation - along with games for children. I highly recommend this event. THERE'S NOTHING LIKE IT!! It's educational and fun!!
(January 26, 2018, 6:16 pm)It’s great what these people do for all these pigs at this sanctuary. Home to over 500 pigs, who are all well taken care of, many who have come in from sad situations. There are only a few places like this in the country, a sanctuary where pigs can run freely. This is one of them. Unfortunately 90% of the pigs in the US are bred for human consumption and kept in gestation crates their entire lives before sent to slaughter. A gestation crate is a two foot wide metal cage that encloses an 800 LB pig. My heart goes out to this place, Ironwood Pig Sanctuary, for the amazing work they do for the pigs and simply giving them a chance at life.
