Madera Kubo B&B

This is our favorite getaway place. Hosts are wonderful, the cabins are cozy and well equipped with necessities and the wildlife and birds couldn't be any better!!! This week, it was a bear walking by the cabin. To go to sleep with the sound of a small stream running by is just heavenly. The peace and rest gathered at this location is worth everything:) We attend at least twice a year.

My husband and I stayed in Madera Kubo for 1 night during the spring migration and we loved it. We were greeted by Cora (owner) and instantly felt at home. We stayed in the A-frame cabin and it was so cozy inside. The cabin was located above the gift shop and had bird feeders located all around.

On our first day, we saw the rare Blue-throated Mountain-gem outside the gift shop making its territory very clear. If you are an avid-birder, this is the spot for you. It is located within minutes of the Madera Canyon hiking trails where you’ll see many rare and familiar birds.

My husband and I will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed in Cabin #2. It was mostly great! The place was cozy and had a very rustic feel. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The hosts were nice to us and everything went smoothly! My only complaint is that the website says they provide breakfast (and I assumed it was since it's advertised as a bed and breakfast), but breakfast was basically some granola, dry plain oatmeal, an 8 oz bottle of milk in the fridge, and a few pieces of fruit. I appreciated the small snacks there! But the nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away. After we figured out that was breakfast, we went to the store and got some actual food for breakfast. The website makes it clear that the grocery store is kind of far- that was helpful, because we brought food to make dinner. The kitchen is equipped with pots/pans, and cooking there was really fun! I just wish we had known to bring enough food for dinner and breakfast, as well. It would have allowed us to skip that extra hour long trip and enjoy our stay more.
For the price it was pretty good- the other places to stay in Madera Canyon were pretty pricey. Ultimately, I would love to stay there again, and we would be more prepared to have a nice stay!
