Randomly pulled off the highway to explore and happened upon this spot. It was early morning, and I pulled in just because it looked to be open. Very pleasant surprise! A little conglomerate of businesses including the Cafe, a farmers market, gem shop, gas station, and my personal favorite- The Pie Box. Behind all of this is a pleasant outdoor garden/ nature spot that is open for relaxing, walking the dog, and checking out a little steam and waterfall. The Pie Box has a seating area inside with large windows that open up to the outside. I imagine if I lived here I would enjoy a Pie breakfast and coffee too frequently. The bakers were busy and the place smelled amazing! Good selection of freshly made pies... too many to mention. Got a slice of peach which was delicious and not too sweet. Cool spot that is family oriented and a good spot to stretch your legs or just relax and have a treat.

Let me just preface this by saying that I am not a pie person. I don’t normally like fruit pie, or cream pie, I do enjoy a pumpkin or a sweet potato pie, but that’s normally the extent. My boyfriend and I stopped here after visiting Chilleens, because he was raving about the pie. When we went in there were quite a few pies on the menu, but not pumpkin or sweet potato (it was the middle of summer) so I went with apple. When I tell you that this was the best damn apple pie I’ve ever had in my life… holy… anytime we pass this place from now on, it is my mission to stop in and try a different pie. I feel like they make our how pie is supposed to be made. I’m definitely still not a pie person, unless it’s a rock springs pie.

How did I miss this place? I've driven by many, many times and always notice the sign for pie. I love pie. I think I have reminded myself many times that I should stop by there next time I'm passing through. I'm kicking myself for not stopping EVERY time I've passed through. The building was fantastic! So many things to look at. I loved the little Christmas area upstairs. We went to the cafe and ordered some pie. The server was so nice! We'd come back just for her. The pie was so good! I think we got a Tennessee Lemon and Strawberry Rhubarb. They were both fantastic. We also ordered some ice waters. We both commented that the ice water was some of the best water we've had in a long time. I saw the filtration system in the way to the bathroom and took a picture of it. I want one! Also, the bathroom... It was crazy! The urinals were beer kegs, there were license plates all over the walls and the sink faucets were some kind of Steampunk contraption. Pretty cool! On our way out, we noticed a little garden off to the side. We walked through and it just kept going. It's a whole event venue. There was so much space! there were multiple levels with drink stations and a waterfall and trees and plants everywhere. It was very impressive. There wasn't an event happening so we were just wandering around to look at stuff. We will definitely be back. We have like 20 more pie flavors to try.

Actually the best pie I've ever had in my entire life... no joke. Atmosphere is similar to a Cracker Barrel, but better. Sweet lil townie pub that was packed on a wednesday afternoon! Food was scrumptious, wait staff was friendly, and the MIXED BERRY CRUMBLE PIE A LA MODE... to die for!! A Must Try.
